I have a Mac that is 4 months old, 8gig ram, OS Maverick. I have been playing Rust on it for 3 days with amazing clarity and speed. Now suddenly I cannot get past the login screen. In the background you see the burning barrel and hear crackling flames. The flames stop moving immediately, and the pinwheel starts spinning.

I have deleted and re-loaded the game.
I have reduced the settings. Nothing seems to be working. Any help out there besides, "Go get a PC"? I have a PC and Rust runs ok on it, but not even close to as nice as it did on the Mac- PC is a HP Pavilion i7
about 18 months old. Any ideas?

Hmmmm I think I found the answer.. Make sure to exit Safari out on the toolbar. I think Safari is fucking things up. Delete the Rust shortcut on the Desktop, if you have one.
Exit out of the Steam icon on the toolbar...

Now click on the Steam icon on the desktop, and LOAD THE GAME RUST FROM THE LIBRARY not the shortcut Icon which you should have deleted!

I can now run "fantastic" setting, full rez. I get like 40 fps on highest settings
