I gotta say this is a brilliant idea. The great thing is that i doesn't only work in raids. It can also be used in base protection or when escaping from someone. The ways us like the community invent ways of using things is spectacular so I do think this a great idead

Add it to the item editor man, let the community decide there if it is accepted or not. I dont see any cons.

Just make it metal fragments, gunpowder, and animal fat, and you have a poorman's smoke grenade that even smells delicious.
