the eac developer has not kernel experience and you want to install a fucking driver on my system? NERVER

Its so easy to detect the most payed cheats without driver

Garry, EAC install procedure work fine (Looks like). When is the next step to test the anti-cheat?

    Interesting!

But then even from installing this, can't they just bypass the anti-cheat? Similar to how they bypassed an anti cheat on another/every game (Maplestory, anti cheat was HackShield).

I know it's impossible to stop every cheater.

love the fact they have a dedicated developer working on making controllers viable. I suck with a mouse, but god damnit I will do well with a controller hooked up to my laptop! =P

    Edited:

at least the onely thing that i fear is a false positiv wave, or an incompatibility of the mods. or the worst case false ban becouse of mods.
But i trust Facepunch to test the anti cheat massures enuff before they go live. and everything that helps against Hacker is good. Hackers can destroy a whole server community...
but as always i trust in garry and Facepunch :)

Is there an eta on the eac full implementation? I don't want it to be rushed of course bc the idea of a false positive scares the shit out of me. I remember almost crapping my pants for my first kicked for violation lol.

well I'm not here to be a downer, but EAC wasn't really that effective with CSGO, so I don't really expect much. I do like the idea of periodic bans to discourage cheating though.

I do agree with you there, but CSGO also a counterstrike game.. and everyone knows the counterstrike series is one of the most hackable games out there(by "hackable" i mean its easy as fuck lol). Rust also has 2 anticheats in play, so another is just gonna be that much better.

WHY :((((( do you stop using cheatpunch ? An approach like cheatpunch is the best, its none mainstream and individual anti-cheat software wich therefore is hard to reengineer and you can do very evil things and trap cheaters/hackers with it perfectly. I KNOW it takes manpower and time to maintain something like Cheaterpunch and i would not wonder if that is the reason why you want to stop using it turning towards EAC (wich i dont say that it is bad!!!!).
I had an imagination of an anti cheat solution like Cheaterpunch is since a long time and wrote some basic implimentations in c# unfortunately i never had the environment to test my implimentations of such a system, and now you came, did something like it ,but stop using it just after some weeks of its release??? :((( please dont, let me maintain it,let me extend and improve it over and over, i do it for free , let me hunt down hackers in RUST, i will break them and make them whine, i will give them sha256 and other nasty things to eat for breakfast.I am serious about that.Give me a chance, check me out , let me show you what i am able to do.

Where can i write a resume like text that Garry Newman is reading personally for sure?

    Kind regards,

He already said Cheatpunch is NOT an anti cheat but rather a stats reporter that caught cheaters as a side-effect.

And I don't think VAC counts as an anti cheat since it is obviously not very effective.

VAC is effective, mainly because the way it works. Thing is.. Rust needs a faster acting AntiCheat that insta bans / kicks.

I don't know how many dave001's there are out there but I see a dave001 signed up on a website called MVHacks. Looking at your steam profile I couldn't help but notice your previous steam aliases being matches for a number of user accounts on game hacking websites.

Then out of the 24 friends you have, 5 of them have VAC bans and overall half of the people on your friends list haven't even set their Steam profiles up and most that have are all fairly new.

Of course, could just be a coincidence. You seemed pretty concerned about this new anti-cheat though.

Are people aware that because of the steam family thing vac bans are pretty much useless and allows them to still play after vac bans them?

Any new anti cheat is good. I hope it bans by IP this time around.

IP, mac address and even windows ID bans will do very little against hackers + script kiddies. All of these things can be easily changed with a small amount of effort and research. Also we need EAC, punkbuster or any alternative as soon as possible imo.

Can't install this EAC stuff, just says "all done" and then it's still not working and trying to reinstall every time I re-run Rust. Tried manually installing from steamapps with some different settings like admin permissions and compatibility modes and so on... Still not getting it to work.
    Any ideas?
