Progress seems a little slow but do you realize how long it takes big time companies to make amazing games like Battlefield and of the such? It takes years to release some games. Did you see how long it took for minecraft to be full realeased? There were a lot of people working on Minecraft.

The pace is fine, the only reason why it feels slow is because you're playing an alpha and not the full game. If there was a BF 3 alpha you'd be shitting bricks over how long it took them to release the game. Give them time, in months will come awesome updates that will change our experience of gameplay.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between criticism and whining. Criticism provides legitimate and healthy feedback, and there is no reason to personally attack those just wanting to get their opinions out. And also keep in mind that just because someone might be providing criticism, does not means that we are not happy, nor does it mean we have some unrealistic expectations.

Comparing any form of criticism as ranting is a fallacy, so please be respectful of others' opinions, please. Even if you cannot respect others' opinions, it would be best if you take your own words into account and stop whining when others share their opinions.

Hackers, this needs no reason. They plague the official servers, although, they do seem to keep kevlar+M4 guys at bay, I have yet to even see one because of the hackers. Use some of that $15,000,000 on powerful servers that can do server side validation. Prove you want to make an awesome game, and not just an awesome bank balance with a flawed game.

Kevlar+M4, as much as all you FPS fanboys are going to disagree. Rust is a survival game, not an FPS. Of course there should be guns, but single shot, hand made guns. The sort of guns that could be shit against a longbow for example.

They are the things for me, that make this game, which has so much potential, so god damn shit. Yes it is alpha, and apparently 10% complete but if it has taken them 3 months to replace zombies with animals, a bed, and wood/rock piles that deform as you hit them then I expect this game to be complete in about 2050.

They provide next to no updates on what the fuck they are even doing. Yes there is trello but I hope to hell that is wrong. 3 things for the next update, new sky, item durability and server dumps. Seriously? How thick are you lot? Hmmm we have some major problems with this game, but fuck that, lets do a new sky! Idiots.

I have just seen "The Forest" trailer and it makes the facepunch developers look so incredibly amateur.

You're an idiot. You can't spawn shit in Battlefield because it isn't a survival game and all that is in it is vehicles and guns which everyone already starts with... Server owners being able to spawn whatever they want is okay and is done on a plethora of other games. Do you advocate no admin spawning for a game like Minecraft? Which guess what, happens to be a survival game! Some servers will have admins that abuse it, which is okay, because they pay for it. Happens in Minecraft too. If you don't like it, quit your bitching and go play on another server. There are thousands of servers to choose from. Quit complaining about the stupidest things.

And this is Alpha, it even states that the game is incomplete and things are subject to change and/or get updated. Deal with it. Wait patiently. Go play something else. Come back in a month, see what has changed.

Unity's built in networking isn't meant to hold 500 players, but Unity can easily network with stuff like Photon or Raknet which could do that

besides that, nobody would play on a 2500-player rust server what the hell are you on about

Uh no, you're the one that was bringing it up by saying it's not fair that art assets are improved while the programmers work on anticheat. That complaint makes no sense at all because the people improving the art assets aren't the same people that work on the anticheat. Try to understand how a game is made before coming here to post complaints about how things are being done.

Anyways, just be patient. The game is in alpha and new anticheat solutions are still being actively worked on. Complaining isn't gonna solve anything, they're aware of the issue are are working at it.

As well we need to separate 2 distinct sides here, the thing is the people who are complaining DO in fact realize the game is in alpha, but the things we are complaining about have nothing in relation to the fact the game is in alpha, the servers should be ready as one the devs know how many people play and two if its early access we are contributing to the development of the game and we need to be able to play and do stuff to do that, you cant bash us for hating alpha and being blatantly retarded when what we are complaining about isn't related to the current state of the game at all

Lots of good points arguing back and forth on here. I'd have to say that my only real complaint toward the developers is that a game that's only 10% done probably should remain in closed beta. Far too many games these days are being sold in beta state and are never truly finished regardless of profits made. I hope this is different, only time will tell.

The official servers absolutely need actual active moderators though, it's just another reason why people are forced to pay additional money for their own server and HOPE it gets populated, or resort to community servers with potential admin abuse. Not to mention the price/quality of servers are pretty bad.

lol you really need to quit being so childish about this already, don't put down all their efforts with this game just because of a new hacker that's appeared. You guys sure are quick to forget about how they banned over 5000 of them just last week. But really, what update is it you even want from them? They've told you they're dealing with all the new hacks that show up now, that didn't stop being the case. Fyi if the new set of hackers haven't been banned yet, it's because cheatpunch isn't yet ready to be updated. Give it time. Being an alpha tester is gonna involve waiting for new patches, so you might as well either get used to it, or wait for the game to be finished.

The simple solution here lies in the fact you have alternatives to the official servers. A hacker causing issues on those few servers isn't something that totally prevents you from testing the game by a long shot. Their most recent patch even gave you the ability to do white listed servers where you can test the game without having to deal with random hackers at all. Why not take advantage of that?

There's a quality post, and I agree. I have no doubt that FP reads these posts and knows the community's frustration. It's hard to have patience but good things will come and so far weekly updates have been accomplished.
