Lol I think we all should define stack vs pile...
Stack makes me think of inventory stacks, so 250.
Pile seems more appropriate for a wood resource... although I think "node" is the best word, imo. :)

I think this repair system = real sux. What's system will be better? Like a Fallout3 system:
Weapon can be repaired with weapon parts
Weapon can be repaired with other weapon
Weapon after 0\100 durability going to weapon parts, also droped from chest\mobs etc.
This system can be real awesome coz now active players have 2-3 big chest with weapons and dont use them.
Also i think need system lika a Furnace to ore but only for weapons to smelt weapons in to weapon parts or metall fragments etc.
The same could be said about the higher tier weapons and "end game" Kevlar armor. When someone can headshot you with a Bolt Action Rifle, going out in a full Kev set becomes almost useless cause someone with good aim can make all that armor pointless so you've essentially lost a set of gear to one bullet.
The same applies to item repair. For something simple as a stone hatchet its probably just cheaper to make a new one rather than keep repairing one whilst it's top end durability keeps getting lower and lower. The real question is will the higher end tools such as Pick Axe be cheaper to repair over time compared to how much top end durability it loses vs making a brand new Pick Axe?
I'm all for a durability mechanic. Despite my example of how easy it is to lose a full set of Kevlar, at the same time I've seen very skilled players go on rampages, never dying and wiping out tons of people. Now if durability was an issue than at some point that skilled player is going to need to either stop and repair his armor or replace it at some point. Question is how often and how much will it cost to balance things out in the long run.
I doubt this is really coming.
I can tell its a fake video because there is no LAG on the server.
joking....
Durability coming is such good news! Building a massive house will take work now.
Nice preview, do gathering tools state effect performance of the item I.E perfect pickaxe gather's more than the quality pickaxe
so something like this
perfect pickaxe gather's 20 wood on hit
quality pickaxe gather's 16 wood on hit
(how many states are there?) normal pickaxe gather's 13 wood on hit
broken pickaxe gather's 6 wood on hit
give's a reason to repair the item instead of just gathering until it breaks and make a new one (which is what I would do if there was no diminishing return)
All the hackers are already incentive enough to uninstall Rust. Not like we need more frustration.
I think this is a great idea, and if you hate hackers stop playing on official servers then. Plenty of good community servers.
Yea, I run my own server. Feels so good to ban cheaters.
Items quality too :)
I think the quality, fact that certain speed of durability...
Better quality = slower corrupt + better gathering.
