I don't agree with this. Not being able to do anything for 2-3mins at a time every night isn't fun. The only people who run outside during those times are people with their gamma turned up and even then it's still too dark to do anything.

What I wouldn't mind is an overcast night, that blocks out the moon, and makes it slightly darker. No where in real life do nights become so dark you can't see an inch in front of you, unless you live in a cave.
you should go to the aussie outback when there is no moon

the light (gamma can be a bit exagerrated if full brightness and few clouds) looks very unnatural colors seem washed out. other than that it looks great during all aspects of other parts of the days

FPS seems more stable/slightly higher (GTX 680)

    my fps is worse.
50fps while looking at the ground, 80fps while looking towards the sea, 30 fps while looking towards everrust
also when entering any area with radiation my fps drops every few seconds down to 10 making it difficult to move or defend myself
also when i press f1 to open the console, it freezes the game (not the audio) and will pop up 5 seconds later or the game will crash. this didnt happen on the previous update

    1920x1080
    max graphics settings

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev 4.0 AMD 990FX SB950 AM3+ DDR3

weird lines in the sky texture dont know if everyone sees this

30fps looking towards everrust and very bright shiny trees and rocks

50fps looking at ground or straight down at a rock and very bright

    100fps looking at the sky

    80fps looking towards the sea

+1 I saw this thing also, it's like a grass hill but you can go inside.

I logged out for 14 minutes and when I came back my food level had dropped to 400ish. Anyone else experience that? Also when I logged into the Dev server earlier I had nothing on me and didn't spawn at my sleeping bag in my house.

Just did a small testing run in Next valley (rustmap.net):

Game was set to fantastic at startup window.

110-125 fps with grass.on false and grass.displacement false
75-90 fps with grass.on true and grass.displacement true

Still experiencing severe stuttering, framerate drops (according to dxtory) of about 50% for half a second followed by the game stopping completely for a fraction of a second.

    Hardware:
    Intel 2500k @ 4.4 GHz
    8GB RAM
AMD HD7950 @ 950MHz core and standard memory clock.

Its very hard to determine whether FPS has gone up or down due to the low pop of the devserver and since there's very few big buildings that pulls your fps down. If I was to make a guess from the limited testing, I'd say FPS has gone up by a few % while the game is still looking better.

On max settings, my FPS was 90 looking towards Everust from metal valley. From silk vallery, about 90fps. Looking at the ocean(nothing but water in view)170fps.

No performance issues. Actually a huge performance gain over the standard stuff. Only thing I noticed was every 5 seconds the clouds would jitter. Not sure if this was latency related(400ms) or something else. My fps would not dip, it was only the clouds and the grass sprites that jittered.

Overall, looks awesome. Hopefully this is in the next update!

I really like the current sunrise and sunset. Extremely. New effects have not liked me. I think overall gamma is unbalanced.

i've logged on dev server for about 1 hour

    here what i thought

    - Make it Pitch dark again , Current night makes torch useless

    - it turns dark too fast

    - durability works fine but i think should add an option that can combine two bad item into a new one
( i know this is not too realistic but its a game )

    - the day light is too bright , i dont feel comfortable on the light reflection on object

    - Mountain and boulder need to be redone

    - F1 made the game freeze

    - new storage box looks cool but i think it should be stackable and limited to 3 stack max

    - Some mutant animals are glitched underground while chasing me

garry: Lag spikes are more worse then ever now, my worst FPS now is 0!

Seriously, remove this from the "Next Version" tab till these issues are sorted out.

Game runs absolutely flawlessly for me. I also had the console issue. Crash on the press of F1.

No, Linux. That's the so called Gallium HUD (a feature of the driver).

I really like the change, no real fps effect for me. My only complaint is that there seems to be something off about the light during the day phase, maybe it's a little too white? Maybe I just need to get used to it.

The game performs very well (with no noticeable FPS fluctuation) set to fantastic on my computer. (specs included)

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

    Intel Core i3 3.30GHz

    4.00GB RAM

2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (EVGA)

The new sky looks really good overall. I like being able to see the moon and the stars with clarity. In my opinion the clouds could use some more definition and depth as they look a little bit too wispy and smoke like at the moment. I am strongly in favor of the old lighting as opposed to what I see in the dev version. It seems far to pale and toned down. The plentiful god rays and harsh dynamic lighting really made the game look great in my opinion. The overly red sunrise is gone but I fear it may have taken some of the game's style with it. Of course everything is subject to change so my "fears" are probably unjustified anyway. Those are my two cents.

I'm loving the new sky, etc, but am I the only one who noticed the actual physical objects in the world are over-saturated?

Trees, furnaces, crates, doors, etc, actual physical meshes look washed-out and seem out of place.

    Or maybe it's just me?

Doesn't work as this is a feature from the driver so it gets paintet after the Steam overlay. In other words: Screenshots don't show it.
