The dumb ones don't scare me, it's the ones that are smart and cheat that are scary. I watched a guy go undetected for months, because he was very clever with his hacks, and used them carefully. Even those using aimbots can just appear very good, but not cheating, to blur the line of question.

ive never cheated and never been banned for cheating but I can understand its possible for a false positive to occur. Saying simply you cheated thats it is kindof simplifying a case too much. You gota recognize each individual as a person whos case you gota consider fairly when brought up. I dont think its impossible someone has been banned while not cheating by accident. saying lolnope you lose your account feelss kinda bm

VAC has had like less than five mass false flags

and probably under 100 individual false flags

it's much more likely that he cheated, compared to somehow tripping vac without cheating

There has been one incident of a false-positive VAC and it was a long time ago. "Recognizing each individual as a person" has nothing to do with a fully automated process.
EDIT: I should clarify: one incident does not equal one person. I'm pretty sure thousands upon thousands of people got wrongly VAC banned from the same game at the same time.
EDIT 2: I did more thorough research and there has been more than one issue but they're still few and far between and highly highly unlikely. Plus whenever there is a false-positive Valve is on it like...... something that gets onto something else quickly and with aplomb. :)

It was something like 12,000 at once, and those were all over-turned. VAC isn't magic -- it looks for very specific things that only occur if someone is cheating. It doesn't get it wrong.
