I just got a new laptop the lenovo y410p $759 model: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops...-series/y410p/ . It has the geforce gt 755m card and a core i7 processor so it should be running flawlessly, however it does a 1 second freeze every 8-10 seconds or so. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it the game not being optimized for my setup? Help please!

Nice deal for $759, i might get one myself.

In regards to the problem, not sure why it would freeze. I know the laptop is new, but did you update the drivers or are you using the ones that came with it.

Are you on WiFi, How is the signal?

I bet you've got RealTek sound built in. So you use headphones or the laptop speakers?

It does have realtek installed, and I did update my drivers. Apparently this laptop does SLI with the geforce card and the integrated HD card and I don't think its working right because when I try to play Dota 2 that game doesn't even start. If I disable the integrated HD card or uninstall it, it will start up but will run unplayably slow on any game. Also it doesn't stay uninstalled it re-installs or enables itself after every restart. It's weird because I shouldn't have these problems. Fuck windows 8.

Don't SLI your integrated and discrete GPUs. That's asking for trouble.

Set a profile in the Nvidia control panel for Rust and force it to use the discrete card.

If that doesn't fix it, uninstall your RealTek sound drivers. No, seriously.

Uninstall them, reboot, and try Rust. If you rely on your speakers or analog jacks for sound you will now have none, but try Rust to see if that fixes it. It's known to cause this problem with Rust.

If uninstalling your sound fixes it, we've solved one problem and created another. If you don't want to wait for Rust to get further along in development and hopefully fixing this bug, you might want to buy an inexpensive USB headset. USB headsets are their own sound devices, so they'll work even if RealTek is uninstalled.

To get your sound back otherwise, just reinstall the driver.
