If you're not having fun in Rust right now, play other games that are fun for a few weeks or a month, and then come back and see how Rust is doing. Hopefully some substantial improvements will have occurred.
No, seriously, you have permission to not play Rust if it isn't fun. You've preordered it, as it were, and the devs aren't going anywhere either.
P.S. I saw you mention Kickstarter. You should never treat Kickstarter as a way of preordering stuff. That is exactly what is wrong with Kickstarter, everyone thinks they're preordering finished projects, when in fact they're voluntarily funding something that may fail.
Adjust your expectations. Alpha means problems. Can't handle problems, get out of the alpha and come back later.

And I am glad you have allies to quickly reference when you need emotional support. Frankly, I would have allies too if most people weren't 100% positive of you guys saying the same stuff you always do when anyone is disappointed. Obviously I wouldn't take the time to complain if I didn't love the game. I have about 483 hours in the game and have dealt with wall hacks, esp, flying people, aim bot, all without a single word. Being able to delete ALL THE SHIT ON THE SERVER is unacceptable. So if you don't agree with me, shove off. I don't care. You keep telling me I say the same thing because it's true, you're not changing my mind by saying I am stupid.
As to the pre-order mention from elixwhitetail, I explained this earlier to someone else who said the same thing; I do not see this is a pre-order, I assumed I was paying for an Alpha of the game and I would be able to test the available Alpha features. A pre-order is where you pay, then u get the full game later, I didn't want that.

1. Hacks in a multiplayer driven game game are annoying / unacceptable, I agree, especially those that cause damage in big proportions.
2. This game is in an alpha stage, things are being tested in order to fix them (eg. Cheat protection (eg. Cheatpunch)). If all the features are implemented, the game will enter the beta stage to fix any bugs.
3. If you complain about #1, please read #2 again.
There is a big disclaimer on the store page and in the game that this is an alpha version. Yes, it's their job to get rid of as many cheaters as possible until it's being released, but then again, they are working on an anti-cheating system and testing it as we speak (in this thread (about said anti-cheat system)).
Concerning your WoW comparison: As far as I remember the game never had an open / closed alpha, but a beta.

I really think your complaints would be justified if the game was released / in a beta stage. However, they are misplaced / overly exaggerated for an alpha version.
I doubt that the development team does not want to get rid of those cheaters, especially those with severer hacks. Good thing is, they are developing an anti-cheat measure, which is being tested and any constructive feedback is welcome. There have been multiple reports about those guys and I'm fairly sure that they are currently tweaking cheatpunch in order to sack those guys as well.

Bro, I totally responded to ALL of that earlier. Here is a quick summary.
All the items on East Coast 3 official (beds, boxes, items) were deleted by two hackers Omega and Agent Orange. I argued that this is not acceptable.
1) The Alpha notice, while to some people may mean everything is broken, to me meant that the main issues are gameplay, bugs, features and such not hacking or security. Read the notice again with an open mind, can you see how it sounds like it is talking about FEATURES, not about the game's basic coding? To a novice like me, I assumed the basic game engine was finished but they were gonna add new features and stuff later. Since most buyers are novices, i think this is a reasonable thing to initially believe EVEN if the devs didn't mean it that way.
2) A hack that can effect the whole server is different from a hack that only affects the hacker (like ESP, aimbot, etc). Hacks that effect the whole server are unacceptable. Although ESP, aimbot, etc is bad, I understand these type of hacks exist and I am not talking about those hacks. I am ONLY talking about the "delete everything on the server" hack.
3) I bought the game with the expectation to be able to test the current Alpha features, I did not expect a full working game.
Obviously, I appreciate your perspective. You may dislike but are willing to accept the issues in the current state. Great. But I do not. We disagree. It's that simple. Honestly, the collective bitching of everyone who plays Rust gets shit done. It really does.
Please note, my numbers were not in relation to your numbers, Spektugalo. I see after the fact, my numbering may be confusing. I simply numbered what I consider some main points.

In other words, you don't know what alpha means, you think you did, you bought Rust on false expectations and assumptions, and now reality has come crashing down and you're looking for reasons not to feel like a chump.
What phase exists before alpha? What is this imaginary pre-alpha state where the devs are supposed to 100% finish the engine? Oh right, that stage is called alpha. You're in this phase where the devs firm up the engine. You expected wrong, you are in the minority, and shouting about it here will not change any of the facts of this situation.
You need to adjust your expectations. Period. Alpha doesn't mean what you want it to mean, and you are in no position to dictate what the devs do. Shut up about this.

They make it sound like the majors problems will be the artistic direction of the game, not hackers and coding problems.
If they had said
"We are in very early development. Most things won't work. As an Online-Only game with very little work on the security, hackers will be rampant and impede your ability to test our Alpha." Then I would not have bought it and would not be complaining.

I don't think they could be any more clear without spelling out exactly what the top five problems in Rust are every week. You made dumb assumptions without researching your purchase. Learn from this experience and be more careful with your money.

Got a 'Facepunch Whitelist Failure' when trying to connect to a server I've got probably 40 hours on.
And no I dont cheat. I'm almost 50, dont need to cheat. Got a nice 4 story house, steel doors to every room, lots of stuff...
All of a sudden, it reboots and then I get this message only on the one main server I go too?
Any ideas?

Your server requires you to join their steam group before you can join the server, they must have opted to implement the new whitelist feature Garry added last patch.

May I ask how to go about finding out the server admins? If I have to join a group, would be nice to be able to join it (hope they let me).. LOL

If you recently played on the server maybe you browse your recent players list or Google the server name and hope you can find a forums/website, you might even try to search the name in Steam to see if they made their group name the same as the server.

If they're not advertising how to find the group, and there's no Steam group named for their server, it might be that their server is not open to the public now that they have the option. Ergo, you won't be playing on it going forward. They may also be messing around and not have everything set up yet, so I wouldn't be too quick to decide.
