Hi
I await your response that you totally didn't do it.
Hi
I await your response that you totally didn't do it.
Hi, when the update went out I found myself unable to access any servers which had been equipped with cheatpunch. I find it strange because I had just bought the game a day before and I checked my steam ID on https://playrust.eu/bancheck.php and it didn't list me as banned. Yet I still cannot connect to any of the cheatpunch servers, leaving me with the 5/100 population servers that just aren't fun. I would deeply appreciate some assistance in this matter.

Thanks for your time :D.
Well, you are banned now.

LOL, this thread really is the gift that keeps on giving.![]()
Oh hey, in regards to a previous argument we were having over VAC, here's what Gabe has to say on the subject.
http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comme...vac_and_trust/
EFF.org is looking at the claims too, so let's see what that will show.
Taco cave admin hacking..,Beaver caught doing massive airdrops for the admin and friends only...limited max players and did massive drops
Probably not a damn thing will come of it because they were looking specifically for DRM checks being sent back to cheat sites, so they could flag people for banning. The DRM checks are for paid cheats so that the cheat site can check to see if you actually paid for the cheat. Try reading the entire article. Don't be like so many in the comments, who only skimmed it and didn't comprehend a damn thing they read. You agreed to not cheat when you signed up for the steam account. They are fully within their rights to check for cheat software and DRM checks being sent back to cheat sites. Maybe the EFF will want to focus more on net neutrality than whether or not Valve is within it's rights to enforce it's EULA.
Here is the latest email response from EFF to ME.
Lets see what they find, at least they are aware of what Valve is trying to do.
I do not trust Gabe and team blindly as you seems to do, if they are up to something they should not be doing, someone has to tell them that is a nogo.
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't fall for the bullshit lines from the hack/cheat sites. I'm sorry you did. Also, what the fuck is the EFF doing? What the fuck is more important that ensuring that Comcast/Verizon/Timewarner/Charter can't fuck with your internet connection and throttle connections to certain parts of the web as they see fit? Excuse me if I don't think an anti cheat program is more important than Net Neutrality. Thanks EFF for being a huge fucking waste of time.
They are doing what they do best, securing that large companies do not break any laws when it comes to collecting and storing stuff from peoples computers, you know like spyware does.
I'm a happy EFF supporter.
/eod.
If you think Valve is lying, then why do you think they're lying and what do they have to gain from getting a list of hashed DNS names?
You don't get to end the discussion like that. EFF is fucking around with bullshit when BIGGER companies are fucking with the internet. Way to go EFF. Valve didn't do a damn thing wrong. It's in their EULA that you agreed to when you created the account. If anyone had a fucking problem with it, then they should have brought it up YEARS AGO. Not now because a fucking hack/cheat site is trying to defame them. I find it pretty fucking stupid on your part that you would believe a hack/cheat site over a company that has had a good reputation with gamers so far.
Now it's the end of the discussion.
Edited:
Quoted for mother fucking truth.
I don't know if Valve are lying or not (How do we even know that the posting on reddit is made by Gabe), I'm sure that EFF might verify if all is ok or not.
BTW.
I've send it to some paperguys within EU in Brüssel too, and they have confirmed, that they are watching Valves steps closely too.
Because it's Gabe's account?
Did you also contact the EFF over the anti-malware code in browsers that compares every URL you visit to a blacklist? Because that's even more "invasive" than the VAC code (And even then it doesn't hurt your privacy)
If you had bothered to read the post you would have seen that Reddit has confirmed it is Gabe. Read the title they give him. "[confirmed: Gabe Newell]" and right next to his name "Confirmed Valve CEO." Reddit confirmed it for you. Why are you still arguing that point?
Go ahead and believe the cheater sites if you want. They don't give a flying fuck about you or your privacy. They are only interested in their revenue stream.

Edited:
You keep giving comments that should be quoted for truth. Keep that up.
I say if the EFF want to look into it, fine. I hope Valve are in their rights, I care about my privacy, but as long as this shit doesn't stay on their servers and go to the NSA, I really don't care.
Exactly, I too hope everything is fine and dandy, and if it's not I see no problem in Valve getting told to stop.
That is something you can't be sure about, Valve has been compromised before, but no matter what, I see no reason for them to build a catalog about everything we the players do on the net.
read the article twistedpuppet linked to, its not 100% proof, but it was enough proof for me. What Gabe said makes sense. They look for a combination of cheats + cheater's authentication site.
Proof of what, that they are not doing something they shouldn't? Sorry but I would like to get that proof from another source, Gabe is Valve, you really think he will tell you everything?
Let's just agree to disagree ;)
Have a nice day.
eh theres still hackers i got aimbotted by someone twice recently. anyway where did all the North america servers go??
Edited:
HAHA! LOL
Incredible. The stupid.
Mixing in Call of Duty with Rust sounds hilariously awful. I want someone to make a hack that replaces weapons with the Intervention, the player models with the god-awful player models from the series, and blood on the screen.
RustRemover, I just gave you selling points that will triple your profits if implemented. I demand a 50% cut.
EDIT:
It's probably not "detectable" because it's been around for less than a day from what it seems. Give yourself some time to fail, man.
I don't care you think I'm a cheater, I post this to help garry
Compared to others games my impression is most things in Rust are Client-forced and the servers are more or less a data-exchange-box between the clients. And thats the reason why no mechanism will be effective against cheats.
These two and a few others are destroying the official servers, specifically East Coast 3 large. They have no cheatpunch bans either, however one does have two older vac bans.

Ooooooh. My friends brothers dad is gonna beat your dad up!
This thread has become part of my daily routine, I don't even own rust![]()
CheatPunch is crap. Two hackers named Omega and Agent Orange came on East Coast 3, said they were gonna delete all of our items, and they did.
All boxes, items, sleeping bags, beds were deleted. The buildings are still there though.
Garry sucks, Alpha is no excuse for major security loopholes. Alpha is an OK only for missing textures, missing/buggy gameplay, etc.
You bought Alpha access, what did you expect? Stop your whining.
I expected a playable game. Obviously, he didn't say "BTW, there will be rampant hacking because we don't even have basic security". There are some things that Alpha explains, but this is not it.
Is this your first multiplayer FPS?
Nope, but have never had hackers have this much control.
An alpha doesn't have to have anything, it could be a prototype or even less. If we we're talking about a beta it would be a different story. A beta is all major features implemented and even then, there will still continue to be updates to security. Please read next time before purchasing an early access game.

The Dayz Mod is the only thing that had MORE hacking, however it was FREE. FREE. So, i didn't give a hoot.
The game not being released is an excuse for the game not being in a releasable state
Get over yourself.
If you expect a playable game don't buy early access titles.
And for the most part, the game is very much playable. Even 'finished' games have hackers and security flaws, but they get fixed. Facepunch is doing the exact same thing.
Granted I can understand the frustration of having a disadvantage, and feeling like the game may not always be worth the money, but we have to remembers things are never perfect first time round. This is an Alpha, be patient. :)
Based on that picture, they insinuate that the things that aren't complete/working/in progress are gameplay, items, overall story, etc. It does not say "Our base code is not really complete, there are still many loopholes and injection possibilities throughout. You will probably not be able to test most of our Alpha gameplay since hackers will likely impede your progress throughout the game."
Nice try on that picture though bro. Next time, read it yourself and think critically.
Is exactly what it insinuates.
