The most they can get is what hosts you connect to (i.e. you visit facebook and it knows it, but not what pages you visit or how often, etc.) And even then it only has the hash of the hostname, if they wanted to record what websites you went to they could easily install a module into the IP layer and monitor every connection on the system in real time.

It probably functions similar to the anti-malware system Google runs, where the client stores a modified list of hashes (only the first few bytes), and if the hash of the entered URL matches the first few bytes of the stored hash then the full hash is set to the server to check if it's bad. Valve isn't the NSA, they don't care if you use Facebook and checking that on their servers just wastes valuable resources.

You're not showing banned at https://playrust.eu/bancheck.php. Probably an admin kicked you. Could have been a glitch that auto kicked you. Can you re-join the server? If not, then an admin banned you. Either way, tough luck man. You will probably need to just find a new server.

Are you sure you weren't just banned from that server? Your ID at the moment came up clean with regards to CheatPunch. Its possible that you either were just banned from that one server or it could be an actual VAC ban, which FacePunch cannot help you with.

The whole Red- clan on Ger1 is a clan of hackers. Their base is inside a mountain and they AoE kill everyone around airdrops.

CheatPunch and VAC are the same, yet different. Its possible to get a VAC ban but not a CheatPunch ban. Steam Support won't tell you why you were banned because on the chance it was a hack/cheat it would be possible for someone to tweak said hack/cheat to avoid detection for longer.

VAC won't be disabled in Rust. You'll just have to live with that. However, if you were VAC banned, you will need to take that up with steam support. I highly doubt you will get it overturned, though. Are you absolutely sure the ban was for Rust?

Our system indicates that the account has been permanently banned by the Valve Anti-Cheat system (VAC) for use of cheats or other unauthorized modifications. Steam Support is unable to lift the ban.

We will not disclose the cheats which were detected, nor will we provide the date and time the infraction took place. VAC has confirmed that the ban on the account was applied legitimately.

This ban applies to a Steam account (regardless of who was using the account or borrowing the game at the time the infraction occurred). The use and security of the Steam account is your responsibility.


To see which games your VAC ban affects, please launch Steam and go to Steam > Settings > Account tab > select "Click here for details" under VAC Status.

You may still play single-player and connect to non-secure servers (if applicable).

I do not think it fair to the process. I do not know why I did not get a VAC ban information, refer to nothing or anything. OBS I wanted to do a live broadcast the game on Wednesday night, but Thursday night I could have received a VAC ban. Nothing I did not get the kind of information steamtől why. I feel it unfair.

Unfair? don't cheat, and you won't get into trouble.

I'm happy that Valve and FacePunch is slapping bans on all the cheaters, and I'm really happy they can't be reversed.

From VAC FAQ:

The details of the ban will not be provided
Steam Support will not disclose the cheats that were detected running on your system or the date and time the infraction took place. Any requests for this information will be ignored.
VAC may not ban you immediately - the cheating violation may have occurred days or even weeks before the ban is apparent on your account.

Your account has a VAC ban but no cheatpunch ban.

We can't do anything about VAC bans. This thread is for cheatpunch. If there truly was a false positive, then take it up with Steam support. Either way, this thread isn't really relevant to your issue.

Telling you what cause the ban is a weakness in the system. Why would they tell you what caused the ban if the ban is legitimate? It gives someone an idea of what to fix to continue cheating.

If it really was a false positive there would be some kind of an announcement acknowledging it and it probably would have affected a whole bunch of people at once. Not just conveniently when a VAC ban wave occurs.

Chill maybe? I didn't say it was close to a hardcore cheat. I was thinking: no helpers lead to > game automation lead to > cheats. Seems logical to me. Macros break a lot of games, and if you think complex macros like recoil reduction aren't cheats, then, our view of cheats differs.

to be fair, I've used them for years and aside from maybe shooting fast and recoil there isn't that much else that'll help you

that being said, macro's will turn you into a god in lets say, magicka

Not trying to pick sides or anything, but supposedly a lot of people were using either an auto clicker or a clicking macro back in the browser version days because they felt it made gathering materials less stressful or something.
