I feel kind of bad laughing at all this. It gets proof that people are cheating. The higher ups have said proof. Cheaters expect their word to be taken. As someone said way earlier, cheaters trust the cheat maker more than the company that makes the game they are cheating at.

I don't mean to bump my situation here but I'd like some one to assist me, rather than search my current and previous names used for Steam and try to link them to outdated forum accounts that are registered on hack related forums. I don't aim to be rude but some proper guidance would be appreciated.

I don't think it's that they don't trust the devs; it's that they know the truth and are hoping that they can lie hard enough to weasel out of it anyway.
Apparently, Ragnarok Online 2 was particularly terrible at falling for it, with some cheaters being forgiven and let back in repeatedly.
Garry don't put up with that shit.

If by trying you mean that I use proper grammar and refuse to devolve into a pissing contest, then yes, that is the case. I have no accounts at any cheat website, and I have no VAC bans. While I would rather do this in private with Garry, he has not made available a private means of appealing these bans. At this point, Garry has all of the information he needs from me and will, I assume, provide an answer tomorrow.

I am very happy to hear that many hackers have finally received some justice. However, I do have an important question. I am an american who only plays on an Australian server. I frequently lag and disconnect when closing a door the wrong way or falling off certain objects to which I receive "kicked due to violation". I have also experienced this when interacting with gates the wrong way also know as "the Rust Space Program".
My important question is:
Do I have to worry about cheatpunch inadvertently banning me for one of these kicks some day?

I'm so glad that they are sorting out the cheating from this game, its one of the reasons I stopped playing months ago. That and I had to go away for work for a while.
Now I know how this is going to sound, but its true. Imagine my surprise when I finally get home from work yesterday putting all my gear away getting ready to relax on the couch and my brother who I have had house sitting for me and looking after my dogs, says to me "Hey man I might have got you banned from some rust servers. So I'm like How? And he told me about some bullshit that he ran off my pc.
I should never have let the fucker use my account.
Oh well reading this sounds like he might of got me VAC Banned, the prick. I was looking forward to playing ARMA III Multiplayer. Looks like that may not be happening thanks to my shithead brother. So if you're asking if your detection system works, I would say yes as my brother admitted to me he was.
Sorry to any player he may have fucked over in the process.
He was up early this morning checking out the ban status and pointed me to this site. Im not going to have a cry about it. The fact of the matter is my brother cheated & I was dumb enough to let him use my steam account bwcause of all my gamea whilst at my place. And as a result of my sheer stupidity and faith in my brother. Which now seems somewhat unfounded my account is going to get VAC'd.
Like I said im not going to cry foul my bro said he used cheats this face punch thing says he did to and it was on my account so I'll have to wear thw consequences. But you better fucking believe that if I get VAC banned he will be buying all my games back on a new account.
I just wanted to say yes he was cheating after having read the first post from Gary.
So again Sorry Garry and Rust community of the actions of a little shithead who would have made the game shit for other players via my account.

just fyi but a vac ban in rust would only block you from playing rust. You could still play the rest of your games fine.

A rust VAC ban will only effect rust.

I agree with you. I most likely am the only one with this particular Username. What does that mean? Is there a Vac Ban on my account, or a cheat site with this username? If so, I'd be shocked. This username is a combination of my undergraduate and law school alma maters.

I still can't fucking believe that prick... What was worse was that it looks as though he didnt even change my nick. I might have been a little less.. no id still be pissed off by it
Oh well im just glad I'll be able to play Arma III... but its going to be shit having to explain said VAC ban all the time.
Anyways just wanted to say yes cheats were being used so as to help with the prevention of cheats.

I am not sure you read their post properly. Yeah, they are blaming the incident(s) on their sibling, but they are not asking to get out of a ban, it seems, and they fully admit to earning the consequences.

good luck explaining the vac ban yes, I usually look at the person's account and instantly assume he is cheating if he has a vac ban, because he did it once, he will do it again.

Heck yes the cheatpunch system is working :-) My server hasn't been better since activating it!
Might need to make a new steam account and re-purchase if you want to continue playing.

Also, there's still the issue of people suiciding into a rock to build their base. They can move around freely within the rock, but once out, then can't get back in (*normally)
