I just registered on this site after finding myself unable to join the official servers. I looked up my SteamID per your initial post and it lists my ID as:
Banned
Ban Reason ESP/LightHack
Ban Origin Facepunch Studios LTD
Ban Date 10.02.2014 (UTC)
I'd like to have this situation reviewed/appealed. Does posting here constitute an official review/appeal? As far as I am aware, I have not cheated, nor have I played on an official server since the first day I bought Rust. I am hoping for a response with more than a witty retort explaining my ban, and the possibility that this is in error. My 64 bit SteamID is 76561198018996088.
As a poster above me commented, I do believe that a formal appeals process is in order. I can't demand proof obviously, but something indicating I have been cheating would be appreciated rather than a website that has nothing other than the alleged offense. Have there been any false positives as of yet? Thus far, it appears you have only responded to people's concerns with restating the reason it lists on the CheatPunch ban check site, and with a tone bordering on disrespect/disdain.
I do understand you are facing tremendous requests (from the looks of this thread), and I hope you can address my personal account, as well as some of the concerns posted above. Thank you for your time (and a great game).

There's a reason people don't show you HOW you got banned, it only helps the hackers that create this stuff re-write their work.
The people that only get to know how they got banned is You and Garry himself.(Since you know what you did anyway)

Where to start...
If someone was legitimately banned for a false positive, they wouldn't act like whiny assholes and bitch at the developer. They would politely ask how it happened, and see if something truly odd happened. Gary probably would be very quick to respond to an actual false positive.
Secondly, gamma will never be detectable in software since it's a post-processing effect, and more importantly, a completely legitimate way to adjust your monitor, particularly if you have impaired vision. The devs. are looking at ways to "ghost" the night scenes with carefully layered low-contrast artifacts, but it's a tough thing to get right.

Registered to a cheater's website is pretty good circumstantial evidence. This combined with being detected by this new anti-cheat system is pretty much enough to hang em.
What I would really like to know is why do these people feel the need to cheat? Why? Do you not have enough confidence in yourselves? You do understand that by cheating you are not only destroying these gaming communities but taking hurting the game industry as a whole? There have been countless games with tons of potential get destroyed because of cheaters. It really helps no one and the "win" you may achieve by using an aimbot or other hack is all based on a lie. In the end, you didn't win anything. You're not even playing the game. Some hack is playing it for you.

One problem. You state that it has been running on official servers for 4 days now. I have one specific user that has not played on any officials servers (according to his word and the screenshot of his server history). When you say official servers I have a feeling you are talking about all playrust.eu servers. If this is true as a client of playrust.eu I feel that this silent patch without my knowledge or consent isn't right. The job it is trying to perform is great and I applaud it. Though, I'd like to be informed on this matter because I don't want my server to be one that test this. Personally I'm not banned and I know why, because I dont cheat. Though like many others have pointed out this system is new. 9/10 times nothing new is flawless. I hope every single ban issued is legit though it is not hard to believe that people could of been falsely banned. So back to my question, was CheatPunch applied to all playrust.eu servers or only Official servers? Someone that hasnt played an official server shouldnt be showing up banned on https://playrust.eu/bancheck.php if so. You know my email if you would rather respond to me there. My name is Dominic G.

I never played on official server and was banned according to the site, but they applied to all server yes!

Ordinary server hosters can activate it via -cheatpunch in a commandline to ban everyone like the official servers too

I heard about this today and decided to check out the main servers since I have been banned from a server or two due to some less then friendly admins. After checking, sure enough i wasnt allowed into the main servers and saw that ban code from the link provided.
I understand that the program bans people due to certain things that it pulls up, but oddly i have never been on any of the main servers and earlier i saw someone mention "everyone on my list has been banned". Now i will admit i do use the gamma trick, but that's about it. If thats considered cheating then I am guilty. Other then that however, not so much.
Things are still in development, this i do understand. Making anti-cheat software from scratch is a big endeavor and i hope this is just a false positive while the kinks get worked out rather then an unruly private server admin pushing forward names of people he doesnt like.

Most GSPs do not have this activated as of yet, so if he was banned via cheatpunch it was because he was most likely playing on the official ones.

If you look several posts back it has been added to at least one host now. If you are running a server yourself I'd imagine you would have to have it activated? I don't run a server but that is the sound of it.
Up until that point it was ran on the official servers from what I have read.

I don't think the data being used from CheatPunch is in any form from admins from private servers.

It's not a false positive if you admit to using a cheat to adjust gamma. It's a bannable cheat hence this outcome.

I have not updated my server since 02/08. What I'm asking is was CheatPunch in my playrust.eu Steam 02/08 update. If it was then why was it said that only official servers have been running CheatPunch? I only brought this up because I have a user that hasn't played on official servers, ever, that is banned by CheatPunch. Again, I say this based on his word and a screenshot submitted to me with his server history list.

He didn't say he adjusted his gamma, he said he "used the trick". 9 times out of 10 when someone tells me they use some trick they mean program to adjust it in game and I've dealt with A LOT of these situations in a different game.

when i said the gamma trick i did mean adjusting my gamma to be able to see better at night yes. there was no other program used other then well.....windows 7. cant see a thing without a light at midnight though. please forgive me if i wasnt clear. and if adjusting gamma is considered bannable then there are a LOT more people that need to be banned because just about everyone i know that plays uses this
