So are you telling me that If I run an application on my computer calling ReadProcessMemory on another random application, VAC *might* trigger a ban?

This sounds quite out of control. Unless VAC is of course checking if something is reading "it's" parent process memory. No clue how this could be detected tho.

Just my 2cents and actually questioning, I'm not much into game hacking anyway.

Are you completely retarded? I said its detecting CHEATS (E.g your external esp) and NOT benign overlays.

it just means that vac is able to catch such things, the external script was safe for a very VERY long time until valve added it which also means that vac can scan your entire harddisk (its not restricted to the steam folder, you granted it access to your pc when you installed steam)
it also makes no difference if you change the crc (either using hex or something else) which makes every executable "unique"

VAC still wont ban you for using a standard overlay.

Adding a crosshair on the other hand is not 'standard'.

I do own an MPGH account with over 3k posts on it (even tho it is full of leechers, like most GH forums), it just means the some people are actually into programming and like to learn new things.
You shouldn't really get mad over someone knowing more than you, you should actually be grateful that he is sharing his knowledge with you and learning from it.

mpgh is just another forum which has leechers on 90% of it's section, as long as you start ignoring that, you are good to go (not nowadays anyway, maybe in 2010).

GD is closed as far as I know. There's not much left except UC and a few others that ain't that active (at least that I know of).

It's good that you defended yourself, but you kinda lose your point when you say stuff like "idiot". Just my 2cent. You seem like a decent guy anyway.

but since almost every well known switched between GD and UC, UC is the way to go if you want to learn something.
mpgh was never good, not even in 2010.
