    Hey everyone,
    I just joined this site and as my first activity i wanted to post my idea and see some feedback on it.
    Yea i know Rust is already awesome and a very special sort of game thats just fills a pretty new gap in the gaming-industry, and yea i know its a Alpha but what better moment could it be to tell ideas.
    Soo..I think the game should be really complex in its possibilities. There should be a much better map with different kind of areas with different specializations. Some kind of materials should be only found in certain places.
    You could add different type of woods that grow from certain trees in special areas which would make the whole tree/nature thing look better and much more complex.
    Giving the map a bigger size (thats actually playable-not wasteland), would make people search
    for really nice places in it and investing much more time into searching for other houses. I guess informations about other players would be a much bigger point then.
    To prevent total distance between the players you could make some areas attractive for players (like the citys do now).
    More Animals and some really rare animals. I can imagine people searching and trading rare materials ,special wood and animal drops.

    Oh..and change the strange new animals you just added in your last patch.
    The idea of having some mutated creatures or animals living at radtiated areas aint bad, but.. please cmone, dont just take the same animal 1:1 and just colore it different - thats kind of poor.
    If u really wanna have animals at the citys, make them look different, more creapy or mutated. And dont make it too easy!!! damn.
    Deleting the zombie? Okay if u wanna step away from being a zombie game then okay..but add something more difficult then animals then. If u really want the animals - so add something like
    really badass mutated animals appearing rarely and fearing or challenging players, hehe ;-).

    the ugly-ass mutant animals are just a placeholder. The rest of your ideas are good, though.

    yeah, if they put in too much time on the red bears n wolves, I'd suppose that's less time spent on what they will introduce later, or less time working on other mechanics they want to fix/introduce.

    I like ur ideas about the map. I kinda wonder if it's too big (server stress wise) - if a map that big were populated with lots of players, and each building stuff (even with decay), it might be too much for a server to handle, but I don't know how that works

    But I really do like the big map, love to use more of the space, ie: have resources more widely spread, and go a roaming for that perfect secret spot (that'll make me so butthurt when it gets found n raided hahaha)

    Also, I sorta wonder why FP doesn't let players just get wood from trees, n make them yield as much as as the wood piles do now for the time it takes now to harvest that much wood. Wood it not free some space? Or perhaps it's all about space, and it's like that now so that players are not building all over the map...

    Also, some boulders in the hills/mountains would be cool, they look kinda funny on the grass.

    i love your idea about animals, and I hope there're some cool ideas about hunting to come. Like trophies to hang on the wall at home (and to steal), and furs to wear, even bear/wolf-head hat/capes for the proper scarey look.

    yea guys, that kind of stuff is what im talking about :P.
    This game has soooo much potential in my oppinion and they should make a really great game out if it.

    btw: i really like your idea of that trophies hanging on the wall - hunting should really be a big part of that game and get more complex, specially if u wanna add a big map with individuall areas.

    Needs some creative mutants like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has, something similar to a bloodsucker would keep me indoors at night no matter what gear I had.

    A lot of this stuff sounds really great and the map is real poor, I mean they did a poor job of it. They missed out stuff like lakes, rivers, ponds, streams, water falls, cliffs, caves are the few things that they missed out that would really change the map and really make it interesting. How cool would it be to go fishing at a like for extra food or maybe even treasure ;). Or how awesome would it be to run down a cave or mineshaft to get extra resources and more of them but while your at it there's a risk that the cave might collapse trapping you(you would have to mine out before you run out of oxigen) in it or killing you as it drops on top of you.

    Having secret areas under or behind water falls would be awesome too, there could be so much done with the map apart from just hills and rocks.

    The game is 10% done, they are working on the map, they are adding lakes and streams etc.

    I know the game is 10% done but they are making the game in unit, making a map in the unity is like drawing in paint. So simple its funny.

    I am personally against things like that, because that would mean the map must be made flexible. Same with digging Holes/Caves, dynamic Wood spawning etc. I played on a variety of servers from max. 50 players to max. 200 and everytime witnessed lag when entering areas with big towers. Now the towers are relatively small in the amount of data they represent (same model, different position, angle) but when you give the possibility to modify the fixed areas, I think that the servers would be unable to handle this.

    I didn't mean like a fixed area, I meant rocks falling (like the resource nodes) and stacking up covering the entrance. They would be full of stone and maybe some ore, not like mine craft where everything is editable

    I like the cave idea and everything. Also each server should have the caves generated dynamically on wipe, so you need to download the new structure at first join and then it should stay fixed. I liked the labyrinth caves in minecraft and spent hours just exploring every new found one :)

    Yeah that sounds great but it would take a lot of time and effort to code, maybe have them preset for a few different places with a few different types of caves. All of it would be selected randomly by the server on every wipe.
