Okay so I see alot of people have a problem after updating today so I thought I would let you know how to fix it.

Step 1: Go to Stream Library, Right Click on Rust and Click Properties.

    Step 2: Click Betas Tab

Step 3: Click the drop-down bar that says "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs" and change it to "Dev - Live Developer Branch"

    Fixed :)

I cant do this, the dropdown box wont open and I cannot select the Dev option.
UPDATE: IF YOU DON'T/CAN'T CLICK THE DROP-DOWN BAR, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

Step 1: Exit Rust (make sure that under "Task Manager > Processes > Rust.exe" isn't running)

Step 2: Click "Play" in your Steam Library and you will be prompted to Update the newest Patch.

Step 3: Once installed, follow the steps above these ones.

If this is the fix, my assumption is they forgot to change a flag from the dev version going to production, and thus the game sees a mismatch until you change to that option. Should be an easy fix for them to push back out, hopefully they will shortly.

Hi.. just ran RUST and was prompted if I wanted an update - Clicked yes.

Now my Shortcut on my taskbar says RUST.exe doesn't exist. I've tried the solution mentioned above but the drop-down doesn't work...

...so I tried the other fix mentioning click on rust but it just prompts to run RUST or EXPERIMENTAL

    After clicking RUST...

    I just get this...

    Which sends me here... https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8676-EFLX-7453&l=english

Cleared the cache, restarted, nothing. Where the hell has my rust.exe gone? ...Also found this little beauty floating around in the background

    ...and...

    Edited:

SOLUTION : For those where all else fails.

Go to Game Library > Right Click on RUST > go to Properties > Go to 'Local Files' > Click 'Verify Integrity of Game Files > Run the game.

Hey I just bought a copy of the game and installed it, it didn't work at first. I could only run legacy. So i googled it then I found out I needed to go to properties and set to beta. so I did that and it had me download the update. I did that then when I click run it has me choose which one I want to do rust or legacy when i choose rust it just closes the selector and then just does nothing, would you happen to know a fix?
