My idea is this: A new craftable item thats like a walkie talkie which allows you to communicate (from a distance) with other players and tune in to radio stations. Also another new craftable item that allows players to create their own radio channels/stations.

The reason why I suggest this is that communication is slightly...lacking, for lack of a better word, in Rust, and I figured that some idea like this would help fix that problem.
Players will be given their own special frequency code (I hope I'm using the correct term) when they craft the 1st item, and can give this frequency out to others who also have this item (best example I can think of is a Friend Code.) Players can also leave their frequency code out in the open for others to find. Players who have another's frequency code can tune in specifically to their walkie talkie-thing, and communicate with them privately.

There would also be pre-made radio stations that give out coordinates to loot, maybe hints to where the next drops occur. It can also be used to inform players of giant battles/raids, maybe play random music from different genres. One other idea was if they added in some kind of system to identify dangerous groups or players one of the pre-made stations could be a warning station that tells others in the server about them.
The player created stations would have whatever the player/group wants on it.
Now one other idea I had that was connected to this was being able to "hire" people to do random odd jobs, or perhaps put bounties on groups or specific players.

And my final idea (bet you're sick of reading the word idea) is in irradiated zones that connections become faulty and mess with the feedback. Just something to add to the atmosphere really.

    What do you guys think?

(And sorry if I use any wrong terminology or the wrong icon.)

Your idea is redundant as everybody just uses skype/teamspeak/steam chat anyway.

I like it. Lots of people use voice in game instead of using skype or whatever, and that would be a good way to extend it as well as add more content with the announcements and such.

Not everybody use skype or teamspeak and his idea is quite cool even though i dont think it will fit in rust. The basic problem with the current voice comunication system is the codec that its using and how its fully server-client connected causing a lot of stress to the server. Would be nice if they used external voice comunication such as p2p or even the valve one. Would give them more freedom to do things like this :3.
