Hi, i cannot connect to any server, and i guess that this message "facepunch_connector_VAC_banned" mean that i m banned, i would like to know why? i played rust for 3 to 5 days, 2 weeks ago, i didn't use any kind of hack or third person program while i was playing and just tried to come back and play again today, and i cannot, can you please help to solve that mistake?

I got the same error. I played for about a week, got caught up with work for about a month, and now am banned. Sent in a request to facepunch support. Not holding out much hope. I'd love to know the reasoning behind it. I really enjoyed playing this game, and truly wish to continue. However, everything I've read states that, false positive or not, VAC Bans are permanent. I'll be sad if it can't be appealed.

Seriously, do they need to have a huge flashing notice that Facepunch has no authority with regards to VAC bans and therefore can't do anything about them before you post for people to get the message? If you did something to warrant it or not, Facepunch can't do anything with regards to VAC bans.

You clearly did something you weren't suppose to do. Most people think of hacking as installing an aimbot or no-clip but something even as simple as adding a crosshair mod is technically hacking and can get you VAC banned. ANYTHING that gives you an advantage, no matter how small, over other players is cheating and you will get banned for it.

3 years doesnt matter, i dont think it registers as activity when you download cheats, why else would there be an empty account only seeminglyused once?

I know. If you own a MPGH account, you have to login to download the 'cheats' and that will be detectet as activity. So that means he used another site for his shitty cheats, prolly unkowncheats or something like that. Hell even AA gets you banned. its only $$ in the end

Well best case scenario, they will come out with some new support for server admins to clean up, and apparently a solution to the rampant hacking is on the way, they are testing different anti-cheat methods to autokick, iirc.

Paied hacking sites are always 1 step ahead of the curve. New patch etc gets realsed, their hack goes 'unavalibe' until its 'safe' .. You cannot get rid of hackers in any way, only make it harder. But they will prevail.

Must admit its annoying getting headshottet by a P250 from aimbot, must resist loading hack and retaliate.

In all honesty, I haven't seen the supposed rampant hacking, I have come across only a small handful in my whole career, give west coast servers a try, they seem rather clean.

I don't see that many hackers on the EU servers. Ofc i don't play on officials coz thats just asking for it. And if it gets to much, i'll just get VAC banned again, but did some justice in the mean time.

It is quite funny looking at players speedhacking,highjumping and then refusing it in chat, kinda miss that.

Paid sites are pure shit, developers aim for those sites. And when it goes unavailable you can bet your money you're already too late. And then you have them saying that its never detected all the time just to sell more.

Using your "cheats are easy to find therefore its ok to drop links to hacker websites on the official rust forum's" logic there would be no issue starting a thread which keeps an uptodate listing of all the latest hacker websites. Hacking as much as it will get you revenge will take the fun out of the game, I try to always remember I play for fun and that hackers are truely the minority and VAC does a decent job along with admins who are on top of their game don't go to the dark side you will be disappointed while playing on a game I will not name by the hosted by EA and Dice lol because of my anger at the bugs and hacks. Ruined it for me now I don't even play, its like drugs man just trust me you'll get hooked if you do it enough then dependent then go to jail aka VAC lol I also know about the whole drugs thing too so I'm not just spotting off, no offense to those who partake doesn't make them a bad person just like hacking its a personal thing difference is it effects us which we don't enjoy. Any ways little bit of a rant there. Hope this helps so peoples thoughts on the matter.

the reason is simple, the game is not expensive, so they ban random people, betting that they ll buy it again

I don't think you know how vac works. It isn't like there is someone sitting there deciding who to ban. It is an automated system. it only bans when it checks and detects hacking.

It is in no way premeditated.
