I made a thread! What an extraordinary event!

After fixing my overheating problem I decided to come back in style by making a picture with no logic whatsoever.
Here's a comparison, original from final (without the filter).

The guys that are in focus the most appear to be floating? Is that intended?

Nope, they just decided not to cast shadows, and lamps didn't work either. I guess the models aren't intended to. There's only so much I can do.

It looks like they have cast shadows straight down. Shame because the posing is good and the editing is great. Just the floating feeling hurts it. Have a pallet anywho.

I even tried modifying the shadow settings in the console but nope they just ignored all my efforts.

Yeah I seem to be having issues with ragdolls casting shadows recently too. Nothing can get them to cast a shadow, but everything else (guns, props, world) casts just fine.

Nice pic, shame about the shadows.

I'm so damn confused at what's happening.

Imho, that's the case for a lot of pre 2010 models. Dynamic shadows started being a big deal only about at 2009 and it was until 2010 or so that people figured out $mostlyopaque as a fix.
