Hi guys, i just hav ea question because we've faced alot of issues on our server lately with hackers as most of you others also have i suppose.
The biggest problem appears when people use signs in their nick which the game cannot handle and it ends up without a name.

    How can we ban these?

What would be awesome would be a playerlist with ID's on them so that i could just /ban 1 or /ban 2 because 1 equals to a nick and 2 equals to another nick on the player list.
If anyone got some help on this subject we would be very happy

    Thank you :)

I look them up on the Steam community in my inet browser, you can usually get the SteamID64 from the web address, or if they have a custom one just copy it into steamconverter and get the steamid64 that way.
You can use banid "steamid64" and i think you can use kick "steamid64" too but im not sure.
If kick doesn't work that way then you can restart the server to kick the banned players.

google steamid converter and have a look.
in the players (doesnt usually have all) or recent games/players you can see them, go on their profile and use the steamID converter, thats what i used.
Im sure must be a easier way for the experts.

How can you look up a person on steam community when the person has no name in game? the "signs" used in the name is not readable to the game engine and makes it "no name", impossible to look up.

Just copy the numbers in the address bar, that is their steam64 id. You can use ban commands on that to get rid of them.

How to ban and kick someone that uses special characters for their name:

I will use my self as the example. So say someone wanted to ban me they would first look up my steam page which can be found thru view players and clicking profile (if they have already left the server you can look at recent games tab) http://steamcommunity.com/id/teamvortex/

Now you would need to get my steamID64 to do that you could copy paste my steam URL into this website:
    http://steamidconverter.com/

That will give you all the info you need on a player including the steamID64 which in my case is 76561197960272149

You now open your console (while logged into admin) and in your console type:
    banid "76561197960272149"

If they are still in the server and have special characters you can also use their steamID64 to kick them:
    kick "76561197960272149"

I don't think it makes a difference, but i know that it works without them.
Generally you only need quotes for things with spaces: inv.giveplayer Sievers "Uber Hatchet"
