But I understand your opinion and the ideia is to only allow specific selected admins... but anyway, you are right, and fully understand your point of view.
And as I said before, Im only looking for opinions, its only a simple ideia.

For the record I am not an admin, I just want hackers out of my games so I can actually have fun.
For the website you should have a verification system to make sure they are really hackers. So at least 3 other admins have to confirm they are hackers in order for them to show up on the list.

Non-standard characters causes many computers to lag/desync. Until Facepunch fixes this problem it is a valid reason to ban those players.

Yeah, this is a terrible idea. I'm sure it will never be abused. After all, they're "trusted".

On one of the more popular hacking forums (I monitor them in order to attempt to stay ahead of hackers as a server admin) this was posted by one of their moderators moments ago:
"Admins are sharing banlists to stop the hacking,
I already posted a banlist full of legit players on facepunch, please do the same

Anyway, instead of my inicial idea, why not add only steam ids reported on the other topic with video proofs? Only reports with proofs..

I agree, but as a temporary measure this is still a good option to reducing hacker frequency.

This is a much better idea, yet still not the best because things like server lag and a buggy game can make it look like someone was hacking when they weren't,not to mention how you can falsify proof.
Can't expect him to say " I bought this hack and they said this on their forum " lol.
It's at best okay, but I wouldn't like to be (and neither would you) on that banlist simply for pissing off an admin. It's all good in theory until you actually put yourself in the place of someone banned unfairly, and is now blacklisted from other servers for it.

I know you're trying to help but this is all unofficial information and more detrimental to the community.
You should see that from the guys comment about how the cheat site is trying to troll this thread already.

yah this is kinda a goofy way to go about banning glithcers/hackers. Specially after the one fellar stated he banned assholes etc. sorry cant support something like this. Would like to see a more thorough way to deal with them, hopefully something in the very near future.

If legit admins get together privately to share their lists, it will work out fine.
(which is likely what many of them will do)
This thread was just about getting the idea out there for admins to try.

Its unfortunate but I can grantee this will fall apart if proper precautions are not implemented. Firstly there would need to be an hourly backup of the list just in case someone got into it. You need to have a website where people can appeal bans, mistakes can and will be made and its not fair to someone who doesn't cheat.
Example...
But needs a login system, to allow only verified server admins to add their bans.
The ideia behind this is to create a huge community ban list, and only trusted server admins can add their bans lists! This will help other server admins confirm if a specific player can be using hacks or no.

This is great! I was thinking about a blacklist a while ago. If you make a website, I think people need a chance to appeal? All my bans are visually confirmed hackers, but anyone could post a list here, as we all know. We can't even confirm we are all server admins.

I wonder, would it make sense to compile all these, look for duplicates and add a column that says how many different individual people reported the same Steam ID? Maybe a way to be a little more certain they are all confirmed hackers?

And now that someone else has posted screenshots from the same forum, are you going to call them out with a snide remark as well? Do you seriously expect a good server admin to stay completely in the dark about how hacks and hackers work? Do you think Garry and co stay away from these forums? Hell no, they read everything they can get their hands on in order to combat said hacks. Why would I as a server owner not do the same exact thing? Fight fire with fire.
Why would I post that here if I were actually a hacker trying to somehow troll you? Wouldn't it be in my best interest to NOT alert you of said hackers attempting to have us all ban innocent players?

Ditto. A good admin is reading AA and other hack sites. Understanding what they are capable of is important to properly detect hacks imo.

If you want to report cheaters, go to their steam profile and report them through there. Enough reports will be sure to divert some more attention to said players.

A fucking massive list of admins banning because they can't win VS skilled players.
And when a admin can't win, the guy must be cheating.
People that copy this banlist shouldn't be owning a server.

This is complete fucking bullshit! I've been banned from tons of servers for raiding/killing admins while streaming. If only the guy who came up with this would think further then the reach of his dick.

The server I play on has over 260 banned hackers, dupers and exploiters.
There's still sooo many more :(

Nothing like running a witch hunt to ban players that did nothing to even prvoke such a event. Doing this is like global banning everyone but you and your friend because everyone else are hackers. Its rediculous and just .... childish. How about you learn to create anti cheats to prevent hackers. (I have and I moniter my server on the extreme)

i was playing on a server and a admin named funky is abusing his powers. he went into my house going in my crates and hiding under my stairs. not cool at all. i hope to see he gets banhammer

Did he actually take anything?
I make regular teleports in invisible armor to all players on my map and check out chests to look for anything fishy, I don't take anything or hurt the player, it's just good admin'ing.
If this "funky" didn't actually take anything then he could have been doing the same thing.

I'm the admin of the server, how am I supposed to keep legit players in the game if I'm overrun with hackers and dupers?
EDIT:
Besides, all regular players in the server know that I do this and they all agree with it. Only cheaters would say that this is "admin abuse." I do not raid people as an admin and I rarely even play the game as an actual player. I spend most of my time on the server flushing out hackers and this is the best way to do it for now.
