    Hey guys,
noob from rusttools.com here. We have developed 2 nice tools for you survivors.

First one is the map tool that allows anyone to save and share some markers with your friends, clan members etc. You can set a read-only password to prevent anyone to modify the map and edit password to allow others to modify. Other than that there is a screenshot of every city that enables fresh starters to find out where they are, it is quite useful if you are trying to find your friend. I had my architect friend designed the cities in 2D so you can find out what cities look like in high quality.
    There are some screenshots:

Second tool is resource calculator tool which allows you to find out exactly how many non-craftable resources (like wood or sulfur ore) you need in order to craft an item (you can see craftable resources (like metal fragments) too). You can also find out how long does it take to craft something. All information is up-to-date (unlike other wiki sites).

Don't forget to visit our forums, we are preparing some good tutorials.

If you have any suggestions or feedback, please contact me. We are trying to develop more tools for Rust community.
PS: We have a TS server that you can use for free!

    Enjoy!

You can view the map with custom markers here

That's exactly what we need I think. I mean, none of my friends can't find my base whenever they need. Thanks for doing something like this man! Resource page is useful too! It should be easier like this to find each other!

    Very nice tool!

In the calculations tool it appears as though you are also counting wood needed to smelt items into their smelted form for both metal and sufur seperately. Most players however will smelt both sulfer/metal together and use less wood required in the calculations. You should add another row in the calculations stating how much wood would be required if you smelt metal/sulfur ore seperately vs smelting sulfur/metal together.

I noticed that wood ceilings are listed as requiring 8 wood planks but they actually only require 6 planks.

There are some miscalculations however. It appears as though you are also counting wood needed to smelt items into their smelted form for both metal and sufur seperately. Yeah I make the calculations for sulfur and metal seperetaly. I will think of a solution for that.

I made the correction about wood ceilings, thanks for the heads up!

Other than that there are some rounding issues like if you smelt 2 sulfur ores you get 6 sulfur and if you smelt 1 ore you get 4. So there might be some minor miscalculations about sulfur ore and metal ore but shouldn't make such a difference.

These tools are wonderful, I definitely will share these two with my Rust team of friends. These tools are useful, but you know what would be extremely helpful to some people? A base designer tool that would be used to make blueprints or design of how to construct a base before you built it. It would simply inform you how many parts of the structure you need and where to place them. I am unsure how to describe the designer... It would be from a birds eye view from the top down. There would be various building materials you place and move your designs around until it is just right(Just a basic way to set it up the designer.)

I always encounter difficulties when I wish to construct something on a rather large scale or have a bunch of friends to cram into one home each with their own entry points. This is simply a suggestion to the great developers over at Rust Tools.

Thank you Talesofvalor! That designer tool that you mentioned is on our TODO list! Since this is not an easy task that will take some time though. We are always open to new ideas, if you have please share.

    Enjoy!

    Thanks for the good comments.

Considering the permanent nature of foundations, ceilings and pillars, a 'building trainer' for Rust would be fantastic. Of course, depending on the size of the base, one of the first difficulties can be finding a large enough flat space on the land! :p

My mate and I just today finished putting together a 10x10x7 amphitheater (like for gladiator fights, with raised seating etc) - we'll be pitting 1 player against say 20 zombies with limited ammo, or 4x4 PVP bow fights to the death :D it was nearly impossible to find a flat enough place, and two corners are missing 1-2 foundations, but we pulled it off! I still haven't built my base in our server though since I want to plan it out first, and there aren't any good tools for that yet. For the Arena we built, we spaced out the foundation distances with barricades first.

This is the perfect set of tools!

My favorite feature of the map is that you can protect your map with a password. Perfect for a small group of friends to set way points for each other.

Any plans of making the map feature live / real time?
Currently you have to click save and type your password in each time you add something.
Then the other person viewing it has to refresh and re-enter the password to see the updates.
It would be awesome if you can see multiple working on the map at the same time, just like with Google drive.

Thanks again for your awesome website :)

Thanks for good comments. It might be a future for next update, but we are busy with other tools now.

It looks like the update has changed the amount of metal fragments you get from 2 ores, it's a random between 10 - 16. The average looks like 12 though, so we updated the resource tool accordingly.
