Sometimes cleaner is better, and more is shit. It seems like everytime someone discovers photoshop they want to play with all of the features and add effects to everything. If you look at modern website design, things often look more like the Rust logo as opposed to the things you are creating. This isn't 2004.Version #1; Rust Enhanced

@OP: Stop wasting your time so called "avid movie and image editor." Why are even saying the original logo is ugly. You showed no skills of making logos and you're unprofessional at doing it. Why do you even add a copyright label on your low quality logo. I don't think any company would hire you to make logo for their company. Try doing some graphic tutorials before you jump ahead and saying you make it seem like a career. For someone like me that does graphics as a hobby, I think I can substantially outperform you.

I don't make vectors and logos at the moment. I love to make signatures, but maybe I try something new. There are all types of Graphic Designers that does different varieties of graphics. Modifying a logo or someone's work is wrong. It's like taking Rust logo and just adding some changes and claiming that you have made the logo. Like I said, I do Graphics as a hobby not as a career.

@OP: You're modified logo is crap anyways and your LQ logo that you made is also pure junk. Don't bother putting a copyright label because nobody is going to use your logo. Please rename this thread to "junk thread." Why did say the logo is ugly, you just made something even more hideous.

This isn't CC. This is jealousy, and it's pathetic. It's fine if you don't like my logos. It's fine if you think that they are bad. But plain out saying that my logos are "crap", "junk", "nobody is going to use your logo", "even more hideous".
I'm not going to say who, but the "nobody is going to use your logo" argument is already invalid as someone actually PM'd me asking me to make them something. They even kindly donated $5 to me.

@OP: Your "high quality" still looks blurry and eye-burning. I guarantee the guy that gave you $5 felt bad because you weren't getting enough business and customers. Isn't it embarrassing for someone to say that they are "avid movie and image editor" when in fact they have no experience in doing that profession? Sorry if I hurt your feelings. A little tip before you go. I think you should want to read some basic GFx tutorials before you continue what you're doing. You might make your "customers" feel bad for you.

I am the guy who commissioned him, and actually, I had him make me a background, I do happen to enjoy his work. He REALLY didn't start off too well, and I will openly admit that, but he is most definitely improving. You really don't need to be a dick, this isn't even constructive criticism, this is just being a total inconsiderate douchebag. I agree with the OP, just get the fuck out of here unless you are going to actually help him.

Also OP, feel free to post what you made for me, it was pretty damn cool, I thought. I am using it for both my laptop's backgrounds: my normal web browsing one and my Ubuntu work environment, and it looks damn cool and the colors are really crisp and neat. I would put it on my desktop background too, but I have this cool Aphex Twin one, plus I'm running at a different resolution.
Anyways, yeah, you need to learn to determine what is constructive criticism and what is assholes trolling it up. Don't let people tell you that you suck though, just use it as an excuse to experiment and get better. 
I may not be an artist, but I can tell you that you have some potential, keep working at it!
