i check bmrf at least 10 times a day and it always tells me they have no more servers...
HFB replied to my ticket requesting them to update Rust++ 8 hours ago, said they were working hard on it. Think he left a ly off the end of hard.
well drop party was working and now all of a sudden c4 was dropping everywhere... i had tested at least 10 drops and got no c4 - and even got all the different loadouts without explosives and with no c4 then all of a sudden c4 is back....
I have FTP access, can I get 1.5.4 and update it myself?
Yes, read the first post of this thread. It has step by step instructions. I thought I had full FTP access with HFB. I do, to the web hosting. I sent them an email asking if I had FTP access to the game server. Waiting on reply.
HFB is a complete joke. I understand this is Alpha, but my problems extend past alpha issues. Anyone have a better host suggestion? We don't like Multiplay, they won't allow us to use Rust++.
HFB just updated.
Edited:
Game server updated to the new rust++, says 1.5.5 on HFB control panel. Full functionality, for now. Thanks to the mod dev team for the due diligence.
sure is but HFB is compleatly down now.
Yup my server is toast now too, just got a 100% cpu warning (pretty crazy considering there were 0 people logged in) and it was restarted, but now no ftp, no status, no win
I just updated my Rust++ to 1.5.4....HFB says 1.5.5 but my problem is this...I typed rcon.login xxxxxxxxx then I typed setmasteradmin but when i try to activate /instako or /god I get "You do not have access to this command" I can spawn myself things and the admin loadout works fine. What am I doing wrong? It worked fine before the latest update.
I'd go with FPSPlayers. I just started using them the other day, no complaints here. Setup time was about five minutes. There is a little bit of lag in-game occasionally but it's nothing bad.
50 slot server costed me about $20 USD, I think.
You must have installed the update wrong. You need to stop server, uninstall all mods, steam update server, then re-install mod and reconfigure NEW .cfg file. HFB is up for me working fine.
edit*
Once mod was installed properly I had no need to reset myself as master admin nor had any of the problems you listed above.
Edited:
HFB never went down...the issues are on your end. I can try and help if you need.
So much hfb fail.. now the install doesnt create a rustpp directory that I can see
I updated mine and turned my server on and it won't even show it in the list on Rust so that's always fun.
This is because you did not do a steam update on the server.
Edited:
I was able to get to my rustpp directory through my file manager on HFB control panel. Nothing changed actually.
I am not having the same issues over here. I suggest starting the install over using these steps.
Stop Server
Uninstall any and all mods
Steam Update server
re-install rust++
re-configure new .cfg file for rust++
re-install cheatpunch, if you use it
restart server
Edited:
Also, if you don't normally frequent this thread... You will notice Rust++ servers now appear in the modded section of the game lists since the new patch, per request.
Streamline servers got the update yesterday (1.5.4). Working now :-)
I know, I couldn't believe it. I really wanted to sign up with them, but they never had any openings. When our server went down with HFB for a day, I was complaining to my buddy that I really wanted to sign up with BMRF when I originally shopped around for hosts. I was showing him the website and told him that they are full and not accepting any invites, but when I clicked on the link it actually said they were accepting new servers. I jumped on it right away, as I couldn't believe my luck.
They don't have a nice GUI interface like HFB does and it's very limited, but if you are a technical person who doesn't mind managing all the files, they are definitely the way to go. I'll take stability and quick Tech response over a nice GUI any day.
Okay so I Shut down my HFB server,
Uninstalled Rust++
Steam updated
Reinstalled Rust++
Steam Updated
Checked the Config
Saved the Config
Updated it
Started server
Rust++ Still will not work for me. What am I doing wrong?
Don't do the steam update twice. Don't do the steam update with the mod installed at all. Do it in this order, do not deviate.
Stop Server
Uninstall any and all mods
Steam Update server
re-install rust++
re-configure new .cfg file for rust++
re-install cheatpunch, if you use it
restart server
I have a questions about /instako
If I use this does it erase everything around me? I hit a shelter and all of the sudden spike walls around me started to explode. I quickly disabled /instako and everything seemed to have stopped exploding.
I just need to know if this is a feature or what. I dont want to see everything on the server explode. I just need to take down user mistakes and unused Structures.
So I take it that cheatpunch works if u use rust++
and this is a commandline (-cheatpunch) for server starts on Streamline servers.
I will give this a go thanks
Ok have tried this. Logged on /help did not work but MOTD did. logged on as admin through F1 then /setmasteradmin ok. then /help worked. Tried a few commands all good so far then server crashed.
This is the master cfg

I have cheatpunch enabled in the commandline to start the server. I was playing on the server for over half an hour before doing the above and all was fine with no mods and the server is up to date with steam.
Can anyone tell me y the server crashes with in 5 minute
I have seen a couple of comments like yours saying that spiked walls explode when /instako is activated. I myself have never had any troubles with this so can't offer any advice other than state that I do not believe that what you experienced is a 'feature'. /instako should ONLY take down what you shoot or hit with a hatchet. Things should not randomly explode.
Edited:
Don't you mean "Cloth"
Yes i probably do... lol me and my spelling, but would this crash the server
I doubt it ... but I don't know sorry. But it would account for people not getting cloth suits when they type the /starter command.
It's possible to break some elements (pillars, etc) in admin with Rust++ ?
Yes. I have a good example of this .. but I am not sure whether I can post Youtube video links here.
Found ! Commande /instako :)
If rust++ is working u can type in chat if u r an admin or master admin /instako this will turn it on and just shot or hit object with an hatchet. Type /instako again to turn it off
I should have refreshed lol
Edited:
Is anyone using cheatpuch on there rust++ server?
Is this version stable? Cause ive had previous versions of rust++ and my server crashed every few hours. Since removing it ive had no issues. Ive done multiple resets/restarts on the server and it hadn't fixed the issues. I dont particularly want to install the new version if the server is just going to crash all over again...
Apart from the other day where the latest RUST update broke Rust++ .. I have had no probems with it. And I did not have any crashes or wipes. when it broke, the awesome devs were on it pretty quick and fixed it and released an update to rectify the prob. It is now stable but it does seem to vary from server host to server host and that is problems with the hosts and not Rust++ itself.
I had the same problem must be a bug
Eureka I have done it!!!!
So if u have read the previous post my server was crashing within 5 minute of starting joining. So as i was having a beer or 2 or 3 i thought to myself and the fact that Streamline-Servers were sending me notifications about the server name that I had configured in Rust++ cfg I thought i would just take it slow... So i started by installing Rust++ started the server and WOW everything worked run around did shit then logged in as admin and set master admin all good. Ok so then made small changes to the cfg in Rust++ relogged and still all good... Last but not least went into the main server cfg and changed the name of the server baring in mind the notifications the the GSP had sent and well you guessed it the server is running fine with everything working.
K4OS thanks for pointing out the spelling mistakes as this also led me to fixing my kit as it was incorrectly listed, for eg
items=3 !!!! this should have been 10
item1_name=Stone Hatchet
item1_amount=1
item2_name=Sleeping Bag
item2_amount=1
item3_name=Bandage
item3_amount=3
item4_name=Cooked Chicken Breast
item4_amount=5
item5_name=Coth Helmet
item5_amount=1
item6_name=Coth boots !!!!!! fixed typo cap B
item6_amount=1
item7_name=Coth Pants
item7_amount=1
item8_name=Coth Vest
item8_amount=1
item9_name=Hunting Bow
item9_amount=1
item10_name=Arrows !!!!! this should have been Arrow
item10_amount=20
All is well now and as long as an update doesnt happen tomorrow morning i will be starting advertising the server to our steam Group and ppl on my friends list.
Thanks for all your help and to the devs keep up the good work and hope to c MAGMA over the next few weeks... I will keep an eye her and will offer my help to those who may need it.
Rusting away to nothing
HFB did go down for your info. But back running fine with rust++ 1.5.4 for now
What exactly do these two lines do?
autosave_enabled=true
autosave_interval=600000
I noticed the timer for notice is 1200000
I am on HFB and they have updated R++. I have just installed it onto my server and it is functioning, so far, without errors.
Is there another option to Destroy Items than /instako? Because just turning it on causes my Large Spike Walls and Gateways to blow up. I have not allowed it to keep going and see what else starts to blowup if anything.
This is very upsetting.
Fixed The Kits
