Hello, first of all i'd like to say that RUST is one of the best Alphas i played so far and also one of the most stable.

But good god. There has to be a way to fix these DDos attacks
I mean there is no way that guy is attacking the Servers for 3 days now

Get a fix for this soon,

*waiting eating cookies for the DDos Guy to die*

    Laggs starting again

Good look to all out there

I hope they fix this issue soon... it's an alpha I enjoy so i will simply say the constant DDoS is saddening

Sorry But that is dumb... I didn't see anyone really attacking you, 1 person asking what did you plan to achieve from this and someone putting in a light way that you are stating the obvious, the DDoS is annoying everyone so no need to be a kid yourself

Fact that the networking library can be crashed/exploited with NULL packets is worrying. At present im sure facepunch could create a type of gateway/proxy between the servers and outside world, and just filter out the traffic that has the issue, granted this would require more processing power to achieve the goal but should resolve the issue until the same person decides to run syn style DDoS attacks against them.

When something is wrong, it's always because of French.

Yep, saw it too. Just to warn you, people on this site are quite weird and lots of people always lie.
This guys is maybe just trolling, like the others often do. But if it's this guy, don't make a link between this kid and France even if he's french. That'd be great.

I don't quite understand what the point of these attacks is.

I mean all their really doing is annoying people and showing how much of a life they don't have.

Its not like their going to get famous from this attack lol

If they put as much effort focusing these barrage attacks on servers into their actual life they might actually be able to do something with them.

Hopped on the TS3 of the "alleged" attackers, bunch of french guys. They claim the reason of the attacks are that you can't host your own private server without going through specific hosting companies with exorbitant prices.

Just thought it'd be interesting to know the reasons behind. Don't shoot the messenger, yo.

So the guy who claims to be the attacker answerd to the question: "Why?"

He says that it is not a real DDoS attack because the servers work just fine. It is the connection from the server to the client which is bad.

So some Frenchies want admin powers and abuse for cheap on their servers, but their parents don't feel like giving them more monies for silly things like that so they start DDoSing the game and making everyone suffer from not playing the game. Because there's something not fitting for the princes.

    Right.
