We need a full restart on all official servers please.
Some have been unable to connect to for over 24 hours (notably US East Coast 3 (Large)), which is why I suggest they restart them.
It states the servers have players in them but multiple of my friends and many others on the forums cannot connect either.
This goes for all official servers.

Post here if you find a solution or just want to help raise awareness.

It's not only official servers, I think they will already be working on fixing it, maybe it's just a new patch.

Hi,

this is a problem across all hosters. Please wait for official information by the Play Rust team, but it looks like the steam servers are having problems.

I think rather than having people pay $$ to rent server during this "Early Access", they should just release the server files to the public. If and when the game is full version is when they should rent out game servers.. or not.. =)

It's too early to give out the software, imho. When everyone gets a hold of it it will begin getting heavily modded and changed and that'll make the game drift away from wherever Garry wants to take it.

Doesn't seem like anybody is really complaining. Just posting their comments on the issue. We all have to deal with it but people aren't "OMFG GAME IS DOWN GG, Rust is a terrible game never fucking playing this game again" Now that is complaining.

There isn't much you can do right now to mod the server unless he releases the source, I'm not asking that, just release the files to run a server during this "Early Access" so we can help work out this kinks without having to pay additional $$ per month, but then again that is what the official servers are for.. and getting a personal server is choice.. so I guess I get it =)

I have people logging back into my server, but I'm still not able to connect myself. It's a good sign things are being fixed though.

So people can connect to my server, but I'm seeing a lot of this in the command console:

37.125 (12/27/2013 12:56:36 PM): Could not receive packet: System.Exception: Trying to read past the buffer size - likely caused by mismatching Write/Reads, different size or order.

Does this mean anything to anyone? Since I've started seeing this anomaly, players are rubberbanding (lag spikes) regularly.

Again, have you not read any posts on this thread? Some people can join the servers.
Also, if you're (somehow) hosting your own server, why are you complaining about the server software being released. Since you apparently already have it.
Or did you just want to gloat about it to everyone else who can't play?
