We started renting our Rust game server 1 or 2 weeks ago and it's been going great - we've built up a great community. However, we have some kind of aimbot/hacker on our server right now and there is nothing I can do about it because he's using a blank name. This doesn't just apply to blank names - it also applies to any player with any kind of symbol in their name.

PLEASE. Add in a command for Administrators where they can see all players on the server, in a format such as:

Player ID | Player Name | SteamID

Regardless of whether this is an alpha or not, Administrators are completely helpless against this. We are paying for a server, we are supporting the game and yet we have a child running around on the server completely ruining the experience for everyone and I can't do anything but sit back and watch.

This should be a priority.

click Shift-Tab click view players and most everyone on your server should be listed. Proceed from there

This does actually look like it works now - it definitely wasn't working a few days ago though as that was the first thing I checked. This should suffice for now - but they should still add in some kind of 'listplayers' command - especially for when/if remote rcon comes around.

Due to the spree of hackers we had yesterday, especially those with no names / symbols, I made a quick server mod which does what I need:



It allows Admins to list all players on the server, showing their SteamID, Name, IP and Location. You can then Kick or Kick/Ban (single command) by their ID only and reload the ban list at runtime.

I may release it but I used another plugin as the base/structure (I used none of their code, but I needed to test/see how the layout of mods is), so I'll have to ask for their permission first. I'm surprised no-one else made such a basic Admin mod yet because it's quite possibly the most crucial thing we needed right now...
