    So, trello is a site with rust "todo list"
    Theres idea for backpack locks that works like that-

    *Backpacks remain locked for 5-10 minutes after a player dies
    *a lockpick item can be used to bypass this delay


    I think the backpack idea is bad, and what if your'e a noob and you killed a kavler?

    And about the name color thing, German Hoeffner and Garrys didn't knew how it looks\how to to do it
    so..i'll explain

    If your name on steam is-
    [B2F4FF]AmitKilo
    Everyone in-game will see my name blue

    it is possible even with more then one color, like [00FF78][vRs][B2F4FF]AmitKilo
    Then the vRs (clan tag) goes green and my name goes blue
    But you can't use infinity colors, because of steam limit.

    But i think we need backpacks implemented in the game, the standard one dont have lock, but one other have, and we need to see it behind players.

    e.g.:
    No Backpack - 10 slots
    Standard Backpack - 20 slots
    Small Lock Backpack - 20 slots
    Big Lock Backpack - 30 slots

    Locked backpack? Wtf is this bullshit?, should they also add ingame aimbot for thoose who cant shoot? A house that built itself for thoose who cant gather without getting killed? While we are add it. Lets give everyone unicorns to ride, and exchange all weapons with lollipops, and rate the game 3+ years now we are at it.

    I'm REALLY against this idea as well, can't you just hatchet the backpack? I don't get why this is needed... its already hard enough to kill 2-3 people and having to picklock their backpacks now? I think this would be a negative impact to the gameplay.

    What if we add a default craftable cloth item "backpack" which increases your slots from like 6 hotspots to your current amount, and one of the "backpacks" is a lockable one half/quarter size and whenever you add/remove/do anything to the items (such as reload gun) it takes 5 sec to "open" the bag and another 5sec to close the bag and otherwise items cannot be used? It could also be placable and would stick around for several hours. And like 5 metal fragments to create a lockpick which allows to "pick" the bag in let's say 20 seconds?

    Won't help full kevlar guys or have any help in combat. Even better: you know they will come back to get their shit...

    It would be good Idea only when Backpack would be craftable and worked similar to DayZs backpacks. So After dead player wound be allowed to loot your hands, pockets AND backpack.. but couldn't open it without lock pick of sorts.

    Solution: Grab the backpack and run. Break it open with a rock (2min of hitting) or better (30sec of metal hatchet hitting) when safe at home.

    ...Or just dont add it, if you can grab the backpack, its the same like taking the stuff inside
    also by that, you won't have to stay at the battlefield while taking all the stuff
    making it even easier to go with the stuff

    Part of the challenge of this game is to be forced to protect your loot that you earned by slaying the crybaby whiner. The challenge is to pick up each piece one by one until you have what you want. This makes you a sitting duck for the guy who was watching the fight and decides to kill the victor and take BOTH people's things.

    I guess this is due to the mindless killing and their attempt to try and stem it a little, which is good. It shows they notice the problem and are trying out different things to address this.

    Before everyone flames me, im not saying lockable backpacks is the answer but it shows progress.

    Ive never met a backpack that I couldn't get into with a handy pocket knife. So shouldn't it be a pocket knife you need to get into the backpack? Also you should be able to use the backpack cutting pocket knife to whittle little statues of the players you've killed, that way you can look at them in your house and remember the time when you laughed over their defeated body.

    but this is bad. makes be belive they would create a store where u can by lockpicks with cash. Pull off what WarZ did with deaths/respawn. WarZ made it so after u died u have to wait an X amount of time (they changed it a lot due to complaints and idk what its at now) to respawn but u could buy a token instant respawn. pretty much all games with a cash store end up being crap because its BS to expect ppl to keep paying for a game they already paid for.

    If you found a backpack with a lock on it, couldn't you just cut the fabric to expose the items inside? If you go out exploring you risk loosing stuff. That's the point.

    Now locks on the other hand... Locks need to happen. That way you can key a door so all the people in your group can get in. Maybe you get ambushed by a rival clan and they loot a key to your house. Then you would have to re-key the doors to make them secure. Maybe you could have a locked stash that required a few hits with a pick axe to open up.

    If there are electronics or other devices planed for future crafting maybe there could be numbered keypads.

    I think if Locked Backpacks were implemented, they should actually be smaller. It would be a better balance: do you want more loot or do you want more secure loot.

    I think it's a good idea for the time being, here's why. The lag monster. I have no problem if someone kills me in a gun fight, to the victor goes the spoils. But with so much lag going on it's fairly easy to get killed by teleporting zombies or bears. I don't like losing my stuff due to optimization issues, so the backpack would at least give you a chance to get back to your body in that scenario.

    If it should stay in after optimizing is done and lag is a lesser factor remains to be seen.

    PS yes, yes, i know its in alpha, i know its to be expected, and i know its what we were all getting ourselves into. But an update to add another dimension to looting and help with lag deaths is welcome imho.

    I find the complaining about this really funny.
    Every time something harder is put in this game thats all people do, and the fact that 1/2 of the picture is not even shown in the OP "THIS HERE" just shows how people rush to form a opinion on something thy don't know all the info on/have gotten to try. "Sleepers any one?"
    Tho why player looting is in the Not So Importent Task and the locking thing is in Game Inprovements I dont know. You would think thy would want the two to go out at the same time.

    This is just a step to make this game more SURVIVER and less KING OF THE HILL.
    Now you want some ones stuff you have to get the upper hand, most every one who plays this game says its a "numbers" type game. You have to use them!
    Road blocks will be made and used to catch noobs! Raiders will take hostages! All this will do is "SLOW DOWN" killing on sight.

    That lone wolf that wants to sniper some one will have to move to a new spot and keep eyes on the backpack until its timer is up or use the lock-pick, and with that, look no one talked about the tool used for unlocking. A tool that could at latter point be used for doors.

    At the rate stuff is being put in, and the pattern were seeing priority items being placed (Heli being worked on and we still don't have shared doors), it could be this time next year before we see something put in. Until the head guy comes on this forum and says "hay this is what it is going to be like" all we can do is guess. Until we know everything, agen just like sleepers, and try it out all this is right now is a idea. So other then saying this sucks or nope come up with a true counter for this. Gerry hears the voice of this games players, so give him real feedback and not crying.
