Here are a few reasons not to buy DayZ right now:

1) It's probably even more alpha than rust is at the moment.
2) It's going to be 30 dollars for a long time, so don't do it for the discount just yet.
3) Rust and DayZ offer somewhat similar experiences, so if you don't feel that you need two games to scratch the same itch you may not want to buy it.

I'm playing both in their shitty alpha states and loving both, though.
