    anyone else on a mac? i know im a minority here just wondering if anyone else is having problems connecting / using items

    after patch of course

    tried reinstalling unity and rust, reset local steam files (blobs)...still locks sometimes while loading and when i do get in a server and decide to smack a tree with a rock that crashes er'.

    I'm having trouble using the console commands.
    I have to input like this:suicide , then i press enter and it doesn't work but i have found out if i put it in like this again:suicide , then i go back to the beginning of the text (>this bit<suicide) and press delete (it doesn't delete anything not even a space) and then the command sometimes works.
    Also the FPS is appalling since the new update even worse then before.

    interesting though you can actually hit stuff and get stuff in your inventory?

    getting stuck on "waiting for character" while loading the server. Didn't have this problem before the patch.

    i was getting a hang there as well for awhile...if you try reconnecting a few times you might be able to get in to a server but are not able to get items in your inventory. it hangs as soon as you smack something or even take out your torch

    I've had hanging issues with the previous build, but now I can't even get past the loading... it just keeps triggering the spinning wheel of death. 'Loading Shared' appears to complete, then nothing.

    So maybe it is a resolution/draw context issue or an audio issue causing the hang. Really not sure.

    I feel like this is a GUI issue where a table widget is being drawn (probably the status/health stack in the HUD). I would imagine this is a core Unity3D issue, not the fault of Rust:

    UPDATE:

    Identical hardware, BootCamp into Windows 7, Installed Steam, Installed Rust... Everything is working fine. So this is definitely an OsX issue.

    Can anyone confirm if they are running into this problem with Mavericks?

    With the newest update 19.dec

    Got into to the game earlier today without problems (several times), but after a couple of minutes sometimes seconds (just running around) the game freezes.

    Tried going into dev mode in the steam menu, and now it's stuck at the before mentioned Waiting for character point. -i can hear the sound of the game in the background though.

    Retina Macbook Pro 2010:
    i7, 16gb ram, Nvidia 650m, running osX 10.9 Mavericks

    Seeing the same here too. First login the world was entirely black with nothing in my inventory. Subsequent logins are stuck on waiting for character.

    I'm having the same problem, ever since the update I haven't been able to play at all. It keeps getting stuck on the loading screen even at the lowest resolution. If Anyone finds a way to fix please let me know, till then I'll just have to wait.

    Crashing at the "loading character" screen. I was able to get to the game once with windows 800x600 and with fastest graphics. However, it froze and crash as soon as I loaded in.

    Bummer, I hopped on this after watching the trailer, hope it is fixed soon.

    After tinkering with the resolution I found one that is somewhat playable. 1024x640, Fastest, Windowed. Once you're at the launcher choose options and reduce your render quality like hell (mines about 1/8th on). Don't forget to hit apply changes in the lower right hand side.

    agreed. i know that the sound starts going in an infinite loop and freezes if i do get past the server load.

    If you have BootCamp, log into Windows. It works for me.
