Post #1There is a pseudo-hacker named sno in game that goes around de-syncing his game in order to kill players invisibly. This should not be allowed and he has done it numerous times. I know this because he is my neighbor in game and we go on raids while he de-syncs his game, goes invisible to place C4 charges and kill players while his body stays in a safe house nearby. This is 100% cheating and should be dealt with.

He uses this glitch to raid, kill and grief other players. I am tired of seeing him hack everyone around us. An admin could easily see him de-syncing himself in game as he does it all day. This glitch should be seen as a Hack as it disrupts gameplay and gives him an unfair advantage of being invulnerable while killing players. He has posted youtube videos and posted onto this forum about himself de-syncing.

He isn't going to make videos of him exploiting it, that would just be stupid. All an admin has to do is just watch him for all but a couple of minutes and he will de-sync because he does it all the time to defend his house, to raid or any situation where he needs to put himself in harms way.

Are you kidding? Desolater6 just said that he is using on like everyone they raid. Demonstrating would be calling staff or recording the situation, and demonstrating how to use the glitch and what the glitch is. (Also not demonstrating on other players.)

also, which server is this. "an admin" isn't specific enough. There's private servers, so yeah.
he also says that it's a problem that needs to be fixed.
Seems to me he's trying to be a good faceboxer and you're just calling him a dirty hacker.....

"faceboxer" makes more sense then "facepunchian" and "facepunch user" is too bland for me, deal with it.

He is a hacker because he exploits and ruins the game for other people. He doesn't mess with me "yet" but I see all these large building go down with no effort because he is invisible. People quit games because of griefing.

This is a community, and I haven't heard of a city, state, or country (as far as thinking for 15 seconds goes) where people are addressed with an -er.
Anyway, that's against the point.
He isn't doing anything wrong in the video, while you could be telling the truth, I would feel more comfortable seeing him actually abusing it.

How does one show that someone is invisible hacking? Me and 2 other friends went with him to raid and he puts down charges invisible, there is no way to capture video of him doing it, it will just be someone invisible placing charges

You'd need him to record the same time you're recording and put the videos side by side playing at the exact same time.

Shikamaru if you stated you went on to raid with him, assisting him in griefing players, wouldn't that make you as bad as him? Seems all you have done for Sno is promote his youtube video for him. Also it is not a hack if anything it would be considered a bug that could be potentially abused, with your help of course. And he has reported this Bug months ago it is not his fault it hasn't been patched yet.

You people don't see whats hapening? HE is abusing a glitch. it doesnt care if it is patched or not, it isnt normal to just use that glitch. Same as the minecraft diamond doubleing glitch. i am admin on a faction server and i was forced to ban 56 people for using glitches and having an unfair advantage. this should be stopped.

This glitch also isn't triggered on purpose it is a random occurrence that happens to some people and to my knowledge may or may not be caused by VOIP.

How have you seen him do it if he is in his base totally protected? are you in his clan or something?

I was in his house when he was doing it a few times. I watched him say "Hold on" and his body stayed in one place after that and he went outside and killed a bunch of people in hacker valley straight after that. The sound of his weapon was heard from the house where his body was, but his ghost was far away, so the people who were killed couldn't hear a gun, they just died.

Months ago I made a bug report and made a video with a few friends, in hopes that in due time this issue would be fixed. To no avail the problem still persists months after making my video, multiple forum posts submitting bug reports etc.
I will explain in detail how the glitch works, how I have learned to control it and possibly how it can be fixed.
Let's go back months ago when I first found out about it. I had just bought the game and I was running around farming some wood. When all of a sudden my screen got really dark for a few seconds and then it went back to normal. I didn't know it at the time but that little indicator was a sign I had just desynched from the server. So I kept running around and trying to farm materials but I couldn't everytime I hit the materials with my rock I didn't get anything. Then out of nowhere I was dying to something, my hp was dropping. After about an hour or so I realized that my body was left behind somewhere, out in the open. Before long I started to understand that about every 10 minutes or so It would happen, sometimes my game would get laggy, I would open my console and it was full of red text. I proceeded to play as normally as I could, in hopes that it would be patched and I could actually play the game. So everytime the screen would flash dark/light or get laggy I'd just restart the game and continue playing.
I stopped playing after a while until the game moved to steam. In hopes that it had finally been fixed, but still to no avail it had not been. Even after making my video months prior posting on the forums, bug reports, etc. They had done nothing. When the game moved to steam the flashing of the screen stopped, the error in console stopped. So I had no way of knowing when or how I desynched other than someone saying, "Hey you stopped moving dude". But I did figure out a way to control it. Every minute or so I would throw a rock on the ground if the rock landed in front of me I would know I wasn't desynched, and I would pick it back up and continue on. If I threw a rock and I didn't see it I would know I was desynched somewhere else and would have to re-log. I got really tired of doing this as you could imagine, The act of restarting my game every time I desynched was annoying.
Soon after this I figured the only way for them to actually do something about this bug would be for me to exploit it to it's full potential. Obviously posting and making videos was not enough. I figured out that I could kill people invisible and they could not see me or hurt me, unless they knew where I was desynched. I realized that if I had a partner We could raid someone's house i could use explosives invisible, but could not loot chests or someone's drop. The only way I could pick up items is if someone manually dropped them. So what I would do is have someone loot the gear, throw it on the ground and pick it up (invisible) the gear would be transfered to my desynched body safely back in my base. The tricky part about the glitch is that i only have a certain range from my original body. I can only go so far in a 360 degree's radius. (It's not like I can run around the entire map invisible). So if at any time someone raided my house. I would patiently wait inside until I desynched, go outside and massacre them all invisible. I've raided over 30 houses in the past week with 1 other person I will not reveal his name. I am the richest person on the server I have over 70 m4's 50 explosive charges, 25 sets of kevlar the list goes on.
To be very honest, I wish I could play the game normally, I do not enjoy desnyching and killing people invisible. It is the only way I can actually play the game. So I've learned how to control it.

If he assists in the smashing of the bug, then he is a savior.
The only time (as long as I've been here (which was a pretty long ass time)) that not abusing the shit out of a bug didn't help was the hackers. Every other bug was mass released and abused until there was no other option then to fix it.

Guys I have the same problem and totally understand where he is coming from if you had this issue you would yourself get sick and tired of dropping rocks every 15-30 secs just to make sure your still moving and having to disconnect and reconnect every 2 mins and Prey no one finds your body asleep and kills you also this issue makes it almost impossible to go into deep radiation towns because if you desync in there your screwed, and the only way to get some relif enoyment out of the game is to do what he said. I dont do it any more but thats because I feel like Im gonna be called a hack so I ust quit playing the game until something is done, So al u calling him a hack are Dead Wrong this bug is super frustrating.

It is an alpha, arent we here to understand the game and find its flaws before it becomes polished.... and this person is saying that the problem needs to be fixed and saying how and why it happens... calm down hope his bug report gets addressed and wait for a solution bros. Dont call him a griefer because he is a bug tester like the people who duped items and showed devs how it was done to stop it.

I used to have this issue for a long time. Soon as I bought a new computer it never happened again. All along it was the computer and though I don't remember the specific details my old windows xp machine had a certain piece of hardware responsible. This was demonstrated in a very old thread I recently tried to find but could not.
I abused it a few times but for the most part I just dealt with it. For me I found that the torch counter is a good indicator of when it occurred. When the torch stopped counting down I knew I had desynced.
I never quite found a way to cause it to happen at will. Sometimes wish I had lol.

Considering you bought the game in february you have not been playing the game as long as I have. You fixed the problem in march, given you didn't start the game at the end of february then you figured it out in april. So technically you figured it out a month or two before me. \_ sit down nerd

man i wish i could of played the game for a year and a half staight. i have probably played this game for a total of 1k hours. considering i played it the most on steam, im at about 450. id say another 200-300 when it was web client. And believe me if I would of known about the fix back then I would of used it. But back then the community was only about 1k players. It took this long to figure out the problem because there was an actual thread dedicated to fixing this, after tons of people started having the same issue.
