Force your dedicated GPU on, its probably running your integrated instead.

gpu is fine enough, for medium/high settings with good framerate.
CPU should be fine enough also.. ram might be a little problematic if you have a lot of backround tasks eating it up as well.

    Thanks for replying.
I would've guessed. Problem is my motherboard has a capacity of 4GB RAM so I'd rather get a new motherboard than upgrading my RAM first.
However do you think it's worthed to get the game with the current specs?

not very good setup.. make sure you run your game with geforce 610M instead of intel igp
probably you can get 20 or little more fps with lowest settings and resolution

i think you can run it just fine with medium maybe even high settings.
just make sure you close backround programs that eat up the ram ..because when the game starts to swap it will slow down like hell. other than that you should be able to run it just fine

    My specs:
    intel i5-3230M
    Geforce GT730M
    8GB ram
    Win 8

I turned everything off (render level, grass, everything else on "false" in the config.ini) and play in window mode 1024x768 with graphic quality "fastest" .
so now the game looks disgusting and i am still only having around 20 FPS. am i missing something? To be honest, the only thing that made my FPS increase were turning off the grass, everything else dont make any big difference.
Am i missing something guys? please help me. i play other games like battlefield 4 and crysis 3 on mid-high settings.
the most ridiculous thing: the system requirement of RUST say that any computer of the last 5 years should run the game.LOL

thank you for any help :)

Well, i said earlier i could run smoothly with my spec, but after some time playing it, my FPS goes down, i start with around 65 FPS on highest settings, but after 30minutes it goes to 25.

Can anyone explain why the hell is this happening?

    overheating and starting to throttle?
running out of Ram and starting to Swap?

My computer runs Rust pretty smoothly at about 40-45 fps (with grass off) and 30-35 (with grass on). I am playing on a monitor that is 1680x1050. And graphics on Fantastic. Here are my computer Specs,

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 at 2.5 GHz (stock)
    Ram: 3 GB of DDR2
GPU: EVGA 550 ti at 999,1100,2000

Plays the game at 40 fps with graphics all the way up and on fantastic.

    Edited:

Also I play on my laptop witch is a Alienware m17x and specs are as shown,

    CPU:Intel Core 2 Duo p8300 at 2.4 GHz (stock)
    RAM:4 GB at 1333 MHz
    GPU: Nividia 260m 620,975,1375

Resolution at 1440x900 plays about 20-27 fps at fantastic with grass off.

I have these specs on my laptop:

    - Windows 7
    - Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz
    - 4GB RAM
    - nVidia GT540M 2GB

It runs every game smoothly (even newer ones) at 60 fps on high-normal settings, but I can't seem to run Rust smoothly, it seems like choppy and 15-fps like. Any recommendations?

probably rust is using your igp instead of nvidia one?
make it use your nvidia card.. search the answer from this forum or from google
still i dont think 540M is good card and it wont run graphically intense games at 60 fps for sure.

i dont know you specs either.
    Specs :
    i7 4700
    8gb Corsair Vengeance
    GTX765M
    500GB SSHD + 8GB SSD (hybrid)
    Full HD screen 1920 x 1080

Run on FANTASTIC, and like i said, the game starts wounderful around 60FPS, but as the time goes on while i'm playing, the FPS goes down until it gets around 20-25 FPS.

Just bought this machine, and other games runs great at all times, except Rust. My grass is off just becouse i don't like it.

Edit: Well, i lowered my resolution to 1600x900 and now i have FPS between 50~100, average 80 (tip for u guys)

Just letting y'all know this has probably been the most helpful guide for peeps with lower spec GPU's like myself(Radeon HD 5450) The things it mentioned in this guide cover the basics like performance tasks, defrag etc. etc. etc. to commands like env.clouds false, grass.on false, grass.displacement false and the like. I followed the most effective commands on this guide, lowered my resolution a few notches, and went from getting 10-15fps to 30-40 fps consisitently, making the game very playable, even if it's not total eye candy. I understand this is a "will it run" thread but I felt like a shout-out here was deserved because it was super helpful to my lower spec machine. Hope this helps you other Rusty Rapscallions.

If it does, it's gonna be on really low settings. That CPU should be enough, but that graphics card is rather outdated.

It should max, the 780m is top of the line for mobile graphics currently, iirc.

One hint for every laptop owner trying to improve Rust FPS:

Go to the Nvidia Control Panel, and switch the graphics to performance maximized, instead of quality. It helped me A LOT. Also, make sure to force your Dedicated GPu setting the configurations to Global use of the GPU. Integrated sucks

your PC can run at low-mid settings around 30 fps perhaps..maybe little more.. depends how much the CPU is limiting. cause its quite old one.

your macbook problem is gonna be the intel IGP ..if you dont have dedicated GPU, it wont run that good.
lowest settings around 20 fps is my bet..
Mac and linux client arent well optimized atm as well.
