Yup, closed Rust and it said there was an update which was fairly small and now it's giving this message.

Not sure if this is useful or not but i came across this checking the Output_log.txt in the Rust folder, this looked suspicious:

Platform assembly: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rust\rust_Data\Manage d\System.dll (this message is harmless)
Platform assembly: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rust\rust_Data\Manage d\System.Core.dll (this message is harmless)

I never had this option enabled in the first place, still getting the error after trying to switch it.

Looks like it som memory access violation. The librust.dll is doing something that the os does not allowe.

Be Careful with this, but if it is the librust.dll from the previous version before this update it works as i just tried it from a friend of mine who is still in game and the game does load and i can get into the servers.

Edit: Including a link to the librust.dll that is working. Simply replace the original file located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rust\rust_Data\Plugin s" (this varies depending on drive etc).

    Warning: Use at own risk.
