    It loaded up just now.

    On loading in no servers refresh. and net.connect 'ip' results in:

    >Connection Failed (no steam detected)

    So I am installing debian 32 bit on a vm so I can sompile the latest version of wine 1.7.8 and then transfer it over to my desktop so I can install it and run steam which I can use to install windows rust and play it. The things I do too play this game.

    thanks for helping me out here. the problem seems to be that the directory is concatted somehow. and in my case it is concatted in some strange way. for example this is one library lookup directory rust is looking for:

    Same thing here, just bought the game on Steam and cannot play hope theres a fix soon.

    Man, I am unlucky. I just bought the game, and it wount start for me, just crashes to desktop. I tried launching it in terminal - and got to the gray Facepunch logo. I also tried launching it with "LC_ALL=C %command%_64", because it seems steam launches 32bit-version anyway, and I have 64bit version. Still no luck - gray logo.
    Good luck with fixing it, Garry, looking forward to it. (I am on Mint 16, MATE, 3.11.0-12, Nvidia)

    I've got a similar problem. Rust doesn't crash but doesn't start at all. Pressing launch a black window pops up and stays black (no loading screen). I can only hardkill the prozess.

    Go to team, rightclick Rust, select "Create Desktop-Shortcut", end steam (make sure process is not running), doubleclick Rust on desktop, have fun.

    Logged off yesterday evening. Woke up this morning and tried to play. Getting "missing executable" error.

    content_log.txt says

    [2014-05-17 09:08:26] Failed running app 252490 (missing executable "/home/username/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/rust/rust.x86_64")
    I only have rust.x86 in that directory.

    I renamed rust.x86 to rust.x86_64 and game works.
