    Hi,

    I'm getting this screen http://i.imgur.com/UZx0Xa0.png when I try and launch the game after purchasing through Steam.

    Is there something I need to do to get it to work?

    Can you run with -logFile debug.txt and then paste the debug.txt after running it?

    start your steam through the terminal and launch then. check whats going on.
    or provide your logs from ~/.config/unity3d/Facepunch Studios/PlayRust/Player.log

    just saying it doesnt work doesnt really help

    exactly the same problem, looks like Mac guys are having the same issue. Something to do with OpenGL maybe?

    Got a 9hr session in before this update hit and now I'm running into the same problem. I'm using Xubuntu 13.10.
    Any other game and I would be happy waiting for this to be resolved but when it comes to Rust all I can think about is someone raiding my little shed and leaving me in ruin lol xD

    back off dude, all I said an answer would be nice, so we`d know something is being done about it. It`s not a small bug that a tree isn`t appearing or whatever, the game won`t run for a whole platform and we payed the same money as the win users.

    Actually, you first complained of a bad first impression, and then complained that linux users were getting left on their own, except both of your posts happened after a Developer personally said that they were looking into it.

    So you got your answer before you even posted initially.
    I apologize if I'm coming off as rude, but it gets old real fast when users repeatedly whine and moan when they themselves contribute nothing to the solution.

    I was happy about the second post by the developer, at least now it seems that something is being done, the first one wasn`t that convincing and the 2 hour silence was a bit scary.

    Yes, I do apologize about not posting my logs, but I assume as my platform and simptoms are the same as the others, it wouldn`t really make that big of a difference.

    I'm getting the same problem as my fellow linux users. I run Ubuntu 64-bit 13.04, open-source galium drivers on an ATI card, and have an AMD quadcore processor if that helps at all.

    Player log as requested I can also not run the game when launching from steam it crashes.

    doesn`t look like it. I`ve been waiting since yesterday and nothing has changed, no temporary fix, no nothing...
    These were the last few days I actually had time to play anything, with the holidays coming up and all...

    Sorry dude, I try it with ptrace and it did not run with that for me...
    When you use some tools to debug a program like gdb, valgrind, or other, your program's behavior is not the same, the basic function like malloc and other are not interpreted in the same manner.
    Then may be it works for someone with this tool, but the bug isn't fixed.

    I can`t get steam to run on wine, apparently there`s a new bug after a recent steam update which won`t let you past the log in screen...

    damn, why did I decide to delete my win7 partition a day before I discover Rust...
