Does that mean, that the dedicated files are now available for private hosting?

I tested it and installed the dedicated files on my linux server, but the server won't start... it just prints ;-)
./rust_server.x86_64 -batchmode
Set current directory to /home/rust/rust_dedicated
Found path: /home/rust/rust_dedicated/rust_server.x86_64
Mono path[0] = '/home/rust/rust_dedicated/rust_server_Data/Managed'
Mono path[1] = '/home/rust/rust_dedicated/rust_server_Data/Mono'
Mono config path = '/home/rust/rust_dedicated/rust_server_Data/Mono/etc'

I realised that the branches with the needed server files are protected with a password.

You can't fix it. You need the password and those do just have the officials and the hosters.

You have to use the steamcmd and it only downloads on linux, this is of course due to the fact that you do not have the password for the private branch

Dear developers, when finally the server will be available for private use. We are tired of playing with pings 300 + we want to howl in the city your server. We do not want to use the pirate server. We want to play on a normal server. Thank you. Sorry for bad english.
