Just posting a farewell to what is about to be removed in Rust! This marks the beginning of a new future for the game!
Also, do you think these zombies should be replaced with another entity? Or not? What do you guys think?

Not to my knowledge, just the dev branch as far as I know. Once they fix game breaking bugs there, it will come to us regulars.

Not sure, I haven't played in a couple days, but I do know for sure they will be taking them out soon, if not already, it's been planned for a long time.

its hard to think what could add that could dispense the same type of goodies as zombies, perhaps some sort of npc related to the same entity that is dropping us those airdrops?

I am predicting a humanoid mutant that lumbers, moans, and chases you, but has a model that looks different than the current zombie. You know, less zombieish and more mutantish.
