Post #1Hello, i have an idea, how about you add mushrooms to the environment!? It would give low amounts of food when cooked and give a debuff if uncooked. It would be a good source for low amounts of food when it would be most needed and if you wanted to replenish just a bit of hp you could eat a cooked mushroom instead of wasting a whole chicken. The mushrooms should spawn all around the map and be fairly easy to find but not over populated. Please tell me what you think!

It is an easy thing to add to be honest, i mean they already have a food system and a random spawn system so it is just transferring code and editing it. A mushroom model wouldn't be that complicated as well in my opinion. But i also agree that there are priorities, the game is not even working 100% yet so before new content is added they need some time to get the actual base game running without bugs.

Even if it seems like a easy task. it might break other stuff. And to be honest. I would want Pork/Beef/Chicken/Deer/Rabbit/Wolf and bear meet before we have mushrooms ( Instead of eating fake chicken breasts ) So yea...

It would be useful fast though. I don't think they are planning on changing the meat any time soon because it is working perfectly and there is no need to change it apart from to make the game more eye candy. At this point of the game animals are pretty rare to find, if you are starting off you could get a few mushrooms and that could be what you eat UNTIL you find some meat. In my opinion meat is just wasted sometimes. It is hard to get, at least for me it is and i came across a person yesterday that said he just ate the last piece of meat because he thought that the hunger bar was ugly because it was not full! He could of had a mushroom if it was added to replenish just a bit of food and not waste a chicken. That's what gave me an idea for this post.

Well. For that there are granola bars, canned beans or tuna... But those are hard to obtain. ( Not that hard to be honest, just rush at loot spawns ) But I agree. At some later point ingame, they should have stuff like mushroms, berries or even apples... ( Just any fruit or vegetable ) (( WE COULD BE ABLE TO GROW POTATOES!!! ))
This opens up and idea for me...
I could obtain all necesary meterials and blueprints.
And make a cafe. Making food for everyone.
Having about 3 friends as guards.
Thinking about this just gives me an awesome feel. It would be so much fun imo :D

Then getting C4 detonated the shit out of you or raided when you are not online? :D I agree this is a great idea if all players on the server are friendly which isn't and never will be the case in a survival game. From what i see you are a roleplayer and i love rp too, i always play gmod darkrp and perp but this is something totally different. I doubt you would be able to open a friendly cafe in a sadistic nudist with a rock simulator game XD
However i do agree that there should be a farming system and plants in the wild, just imagine, making compost, planting your plants and watching your food grow, or even better, ability to breed animals and having farm animals :D

Well then I would have a huge friendly community to be a part of, where atleast there are 3 guys online all the time...
and yea, I'm a roleplayer. Have wasted about 800+ hours in HL2RP/Fallout RP ( Gmod )
But that's the fun. People will try to kill you, so you will need to defend.

I disagree with being unable to do so. On my server, the friendlies have banded together and have a little town going. Even has a public storage which is for anyone to take from or leave stuff they don't want. Bandits still attack, but at this point only one bandit group is anywhere near an issue anymore. I like the idea of more indepth crafting for food and more options. It really sucks when your respawn puts you naked in zombieland and you end up starving to death running from them and zed hunter crews who apparently want your rock that damn bad.

I agree with something for new players and respawns to eat till they can get up the resources to cook food. You'd think it's easy because of low resource costs, but you underestimate the HUGE amount of assholes who play the game too. All they do is kill nakeds, then cry when the naked calls them out to the server for being a bandit.

instead of it saying chicken meat on everything why not just change the name to " meat"
