Will I be banned by VAC if I used a program (AutoHotkey) to display a transperant image on my windowed Rust screen?
Will I be banned by VAC if I used a program (AutoHotkey) to display a transperant image on my windowed Rust screen?
Yes
just use a mumble xhair overlay
There is a reason rust doesn't have a crosshair
Too easy to do and undetectable (you could even put a piece of tape on the center of your screen). blind firing should be extremely inaccurate at the least, right now it's perfectly accurate with no recoil..
Just put a bit of tape on your screen, or bluetack.
newer monitors have a crosshair overlay option
I heard wraping floss around the monitor doesn't get you banned
I took tape just now, but this guy below saved me the troubles haha
Haha thanks dude, works nicely!
Got my new ASUS monitor a couple weeks ago and just days ago found out it had a built in crosshair. lol...
Please close this and delete it. This shit shouldn't be tolerated.
Should not be tolerated, why is that?

Anyone know how to get a mumble xhair overlay to work?
Thank you for your opinion.
Yes you would, this questions has been asked alot in the past, also on the official Steam forums.
The rules is: When get a advantage over other players, using Third party software it is against the rules and you will be VAC banned.
Alot of Third party software require you to place them in the game install folder, problem with this is steam often checks the files to see if anything is added or altered.
Cause the game originaly does not have a crosshair option.
For those who get it with the help of other programs/materials are playing unfairly and have an advantage over others.
This can be easily ralated to using wallhacks and aimbot and whatever cheat there is.
but it's actually not cheating? you are't changing the game one bit. simply putting a reference point over your screen so that you have a point of contact to aim from.
if it's not allowed and ill get banned for it, i guess people will just use collective dust that was already there for the reference point, or just put a clear piece of scotch tape and add a small dot or draw a crosshair on it....
fact of the matter is that the bow should get a cross-hair or a dot when drawn back like every other weapon in the game, and you shouldn't be able to shoot from the hip very accurately without alot of recoil.
There's no way to prove that you've drawn a crosshair on your screen with tape or whatever.
So no, you won't get banned.
Many people use an overlay program to draw a cross-hair on the center of their screens. VAC doesn't check for those type of "cheats". Rust should just add a cross-hair and some sort of recoil or shaky aim so it is not always perfect.
its a challenge and more fun realistic to play without crosshair.
if you have hard time to aim, get the laser sight mod on the weapon ingame.
what about buying a monitor with it built in, which nothing can detect, why should these people have an advantage because they spend a bit more cash over the rest? Shouldn't be bannable tbh as some people can use it without punishment
Some people have jobs and don't have to ask their parents for money.
This is the key to expensive gear.
Ok.So crosshair Software is bannable cause the Player has an Advantage to others.
And take a Tape on the Screen or a point or else is no Advantage?
When i use a software to create an Crosshair on the Screen or i put a lil tape on the Center, there is no difference for me.
And as some say here,a lot of Monitor has an integrated Crosshair. So now every Player should tell which monitor they have?
Also the most player has many Experience on Shooter Games. They dont need an Crosshair. But for Noobs i see no problem for that.
Sorry for my bad English
Killing Floor don't have crosshair to.
I've just ordered this bad baby http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VG248QE/
Can't wait to see how good the games get @144hz, ohh and it has overlay too![]()
