So is it just me or I can't have a wood foundation anywhere near my metal foundation? if so whats minimal distance?
I really wanted to combine my house to surround a metal tower i built but I cant :(

I don't think there is a minimum distance. They just can't be touching. Maybe the land around your metal foundations isn't flat enough to place any more.

No, there definitely seems to be some game logic that prevents foundations from being put too close together if 1) they are different materials and 2) if they aren't attached so as to be perfectly parallel.
