there is a new very good working Dupe Bug and i want report it.
How its done
1: Go Ingame and Press F1 and write "net.disconnect" but dont press Enter.
2: Pull out the Internet Wire of your PC
3: Press Enter Ingame
4: Put your internet Wire directly back into your PC
5: Type into Console net.reconnect
6: Let a friend kill you.
7: Profit.

The guy in the current post is trying to promote the dupe. I'd ban him.

OBVIOUSLY. If there are people duping there will be a lot of people who know how to do it and have amassed tons of resources. Servers should get wiped regardless of how many people know, so it shouldn't matter if loads of people do it. Stop crying you babies.

Yup, my base was completely demolished a day ago on us central, it wasn't a very small base either. I suspected it was my neighbor. With the help of a friend who was based somewhere else, we broke in. After nearly killing ourselves with grenades, we broke into a room that had 3 large crates stacked with c4. For me, it is very hard to believe this were attained legitly. As much as i would prefer for the servers to no get wiped, we have a group of people with a virtually unlimited supply of whatever they want. Sorry guys, but we need a fix and wipe asap if we want to be able to give everyone a better rust experience.

Good, the more people know the faster it gets fixed.
and posting it here may be dumb but hey, if they wanted to use this, they simply would have googled it and exploited it and done. But now this hopefully becomes such a huge issue that everyone exploits it, forcing the devs to fix it faster.

Yeah this issue need to be fixed quickly, alot of dupers on servers, duping rad pills and living in radiation zones.. But what can you do its a alpha game, things like this happen.

Publically announcing the exploit is always the best way to get it fixed. I mean heck! you will see it sooner or later when a horde of 12 year olds start exploiting it.

Yep. We would always encourage you to make any exploits known. That's why we're in alpha.. it's no good if we aren't aware of issues :)

Changing the timeout from 2 minutes to something small like 5-10 seconds could prevent it? at least as a temporary fix.

It shouldn't be happening either way. There's a bug somewhere that we need to look into.

I agree but I think changing the timeout could fix it, at least temporary (so we don't have to wait for a patch).

No, please don't change the timeout. In addition to all the server disconnects my router restarts randomly whenever it feels like it and when I look at it too hard... and my ISP apparently needs 10 days to send me a new one. I can't go 10 days without Rust.

The timeout won't make any difference to you, is just that if the user lose the connection, after that amount of time, it will go to sleeper mode, so instead of going into sleeper mode after 2 minutes it goes after 10 seconds (if there is a timeout disconnection not a normal one).

Except then they will just have a buddy kill them in one second with a head shot . Needs a better fix than that.
