Hello hello, I keep crashing over and over and over again. When I am in game, things start what I call "clipping" as sky/rocks/textures flash and cut in and out and in and out. When I put the graphics quality on the lowest settings, crashes occur every 5 minutes (usually triggered by equipping a weapon). On the highest settings I get 30 - 45 minutes between crashes.

I have a AMD Twin Frozr R7950 graphics card, and in game some guys said that this was an issue specifically with AMD or a "Unity" issue and that there was potentially some way to fix it. I've searched the forums / youtube for potential fixes, and other than seeing that tons of people with AMD seem to have issues on the forum, I can't seem to find any fix of that nature.

Does anyone have any information on this fix? Or am I SOL at this stage in the alpha?

    Any info would be appreciated.

Forcing DirectX9 has worked for some people.

    Try:
    Go into your steam library
Right click rust., then select "properties"
    Then click "Set Launch Options"
Type in "-force-d3d9" (without the ")
Press Ok and try launching the game again.

If this doesn't work, then I can't help you anymore. You just have to search for AMD related issues with this game on this forum.

And please join playing on Redkids PVP Sleepers server :D

Hey KaiO, thanks for trying, but unfortunately this made me unable to join any game. It'd crash just as I was about to load in.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

    try -force-feature-level-9-3
in game change AA to 2X to fix sky glitch

Your graphics card is much better than mine, and this feature level allows me to play at high fps and no crashes. The only negative is that it puts you upside down.

What does the -force-d3d9 do? I know it helps with the fps but what exactly does it do?

It forces Unity to use DirectX 9. I think by default Rust is using DirectX 11, which causes a number of issues (including the alt-tab fullscreen issue). -force-opengl works too (forces Unity to use OpenGL instead of DirectX)

Thanks everyone for the help! -force-opengl worked for me. So far, 8 hours without a crash. Much obliged.
