That would be really cool and I think it would appeal more to people who hunt. (Me)
Would have to include...
- Heartbeat and breath movement
- A variety of scopes
- A stability factor
- Upgrades possibly? (damage, ammo capacity, scope zoom, better stability)
This would make my day :D

Snipers, or anything with long ranged scopes would completely ruin the game. It will turn exactly into DayZ, in which you'll get sniped by someone no matter where you are. It would just increase senseless killing.
As for the attachments... like J!NX said, this isn't Call of Duty. Weapons in this game are supposed to be post-apocalyptic, pretty much handmade. High grade military upgrades and attachments completely ruin the setting and gameplay. The military weapons in this game might not even be in the final version.

I would really like high powered rifles that are 2 - 3 shot kills on people. Definitely not like an assault rifle or sniper. But more like this:
And you could craft sights for it. Holo, 4x, 6x.

a hunting rifle is a good idea but it should NOT have any modification or upgrade (in my opinion the only decent upgrade for this weapon would be a scope)! It should be like a ameliorated version of the waterpipe cannon.

Upgrades like damage, ammo, recoil, and heartbeat detectors are literally the key thing in CoD
this isn't a matter of if call of duty is good or not... its a matter that it only fits on CoD, and this isn't CoD.

If they add scopes you will see a 600% growth ( I did the math ) of "OMG! Game is unplayable. Ppl kill me. Bad plys" posts.

You see it anyways with "Nerf people who KOS" your no scopes rule is blatantly retarded along with your post of the schematics of a .50 caliber rifle, so far it's been either a jerry-rigged hunting rifle or an old world war 2 sniper rifle... your "no scopes" is defended with an overly exagerated 600% increase. Makes just as much sense as nerfing KOS. People QQ'd about fall damage too but they got usedto it, same well happen with a hunting rifle or single shot rifle for that matter.
Right their is your Mosin Nagant Russian Sniper rifle scope sight, most of you kids wouldn't even be able to calibrate or judge it's distance correctly let alone snipe effectively without practice and knowledge, it's a game of survival adapt or die.

ANYTHING that looks like a sniper rifle from call of duty world at war and with iron sights ONLY (NO FUCKING SCOPES) would be damn awesome and I'm sure they are adding a bolt action rifle, in trello there's something in progress called junk bolt action rifle

People are already crying about KOS very often
With Snipers/Scopes you would just have people camping over the newspawn zone, noone would be able to walk from point A to B without having a extra hole in their heads

We can have an abundance of easily obtainable C4 on sleepers servers, we can have M4's and Kevlar, but the moment we add optics on a bolt action rifle the game becomes too hard?
Make a head-shot a 1 hit kill and a body hit like 40 damage, then it takes skill for the weapon.
It's not like it will be more dangerous than the full kev guy KOSing with his M4 Holo, just a different play style.

The game is a fuckin alpha. It is meant to be tested not played.
Adding snipers to the game would even make testing impossible. Since everyone would just camp on mountains and kill.
And now lets think more about the system, not the Gameplay.
I am completely fine with them adding scopes to later game, not at this state.
The render distance is damn shit. Buildings only render from 200- metres or like that. it would just create a lot more shit for the devs to struggle with. Rather than letting them use that valuable time on something else.
