Has anyone been able to play rust and get into a server. I finally was able to get past "fetching load list" by changing to development mode but now I go to join a server (Australia 1 or 2) then it joins and gets stuck on loading GUI. Sometimes it goes a little further and gets to waiting for character and i can hear birds and in game noise but it kinda freezes/ becomes unresponsive so I have to force quit it. Please Garry fix this.

Edited ----> Ok I can get in now and its terribly laggy I turned the setting to the lowest and it still is laggy i tried all the fps improvement strategies and no luck. Also its not my mac it had decent specs and can run most games so it should be able to run it fine.

I can get in the servers now

    Edited:

All you have to do is go to graphics settings in main menu and put it all the way down then join a server

Yeah the times that I do manage to get on are just awful. Like absolutely terrifyingly bad fps. I have Windows on my mac with bootcamp and it runs Rust fine but the mac version just doesn't do well.

No issue with lag on my Macbook air (mid 2013) 11" however the trees don't populate and sometimes in combat the game crashes.

    Front page news...

    Broken Legs and Fixed Framerate!
We found a serious issue that was causing the newly added rock meshes to always render at all times in the standalone build. That means based on where you were looking it was rendering an additional 5 million triangles and using an extra 4000 draw calls. (That's bad!)

The good news is this is now fixed and the majority of people should experience much better framerates!

In addition we've made the following changes/additions:

Fall Damage. You will die when falling from about 12-15 meters. You can also break your legs and move very slowly from shorter drops. You can also start bleeding from falls, so be careful when running around the mountains.
You can no longer place crates ontop of yourself to make a stairway into someones house
VAC has been integrated, Don't cheat.
Waterpipe shotgun and Hand Cannon weapons have been properly implemented
Trees unpack before entering the game - to avoid the 20 seconds of every game having really low fps.
If your connection fails you will now go back to the menu screen instead of being stuck on the loading screen.
OSX version now starts up and loads properly (but there is still work to be done)
Rocks now use a detail shader, they will now look a lot less blurry up close
I guess that means they know about Mac issues and are in fact working on them...

This just makes you sound dumb. We got these macbook pro's which can easily run a game of this type for free from school so yeah I did not have a choice.

OSX now runs great on my box. Only issue is that when fighting wolves/dogs the game crashes. Also crashes on deaths
