I still have "north-looking" fps drop, tested all of them. I will try now beta drivers.

so. webclient is gone. and the world is glitching in steam client. gg wp right there.
I tried Dx9. I do not know the exact FPS I had before, but it seems, that it works a tad bit better. I was on for a bit longer than an Hour and did not get my face destroyed by artifacts, yet. I will give you an update if it changes.
The beta drivers fixed everything for me except the north facing super lag. LOL
-force-d3d9 (Windows only)
Works fine for me,artifacts are gon so far.
I set to Dx11 and it seems to be better, its not so bad that it makes the game unplayable, there are still tears here and there. Game didn't crash after 30 seconds.
I didn't play for very long, will test further tonight.
Will also download beta drivers and test.
GFX: AMD Radeon 7850
EDIT:
Was doing it wrong, now set it to startup with directX11 and still artifacted, tried OpenGL and it seems to work well.
Beta drivers did nothing, fps drop still there.
I think they were talking about artifacting, not fps.
-force-d3d9 has worked for me too. Just to confirm Garry means setting it as a launch option in steam. If you right-click "rust" and click properties you'll see "set launch options".
Please keep performance discussion in a different thread. This is about the terrible artifacting on AMD cards.
Yep, forcing dx9 worked a treat for me too.
Card Model: 7970 (Asus Matrix Platinum)
OC or Stock: Factory OC
Problem/Bug: Massive unplayable tearing/artifacts
GPU Usage: 97%
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIQYCltmgTE
Edit: dx9 force fixed graphics glitch but made fps worse
I have the same problem.
Card Model:HD 4650
Problem/Bug:Extreme Artifacting & See Through Grass (at times)
GPU Usage:
Forcing the following in the setup works for me so far:
-force-d3d9
[edit] 39 mins later, and still no issues, so looking great for me fixing all my graphic issues. :)
That one works for me, I've been playing for a couple of hours without any problem.
Updated AMD drivers to the newest Beta.. and used the -force-d3d9 and i am completely sorted. No artifacts. No FPS issues at all.
My issue has been resolved. Thanks for the help.
Running an HD7850 2gb not overclocked. Before when using the webclient i had to set the graphics all the way down, that stopped the artifacting. Now, since moving to Steam, I can't seem to do anything to get the artifacting to stop. Alldrivers are also up to date at this time.
Same problem as in the video till the client crash. I have a Radeon 7950
yeah, i have this glitch too, at AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series.
check the OP, updated with garry's possible fix.
Be sure the update your drives to the latest version.
the force dx9 worked for my brother not sure of the card i know its an AMD chipset though
I had issues running stock 7970m crossfire cards in my laptop. I had to force crossfire in the amd catalyst control centre.
I had major issues with artifacting.
dx9 worked for me too but now my crafting menu is gone. I hit tab but only inventory comes up. Any ideas? Maybe I don't know about something?
Edit: NM I'm a dummy. Figured it out.
Tried turning on anti-aliasing to see if it would help..... crashed the game and now crashes everytime I try to open the game.... Catalyst "override game settings" to turn it back off won't work
This fixed everything for me. FPS increased dramatically and artifacting gone.
Run the game in windowed in a small window, it will let it run long enough to change the setting.
Awesome it work's ! :D here's. a Link ,TUT for people :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr_BP...ature=youtu.be
