Let me insert some sense into this conversation. If it was a "bug" it wouldn't be part of whatever rules/anti-cheat system or whatever that garry made and you wouldn't have gotten banned. But since you did get banned, it is a valid cheat/hack (whatever it is considered) that is known and used by hackers and you should stay banned.

I have my steam name sent to a blank name, however this is way more because I don't want people to talk to me online, I just want to play the game and thats it.

trolling would be constantly killing newspawn over and over or harassing the shit out of people to piss them off

or even more clever, joining a clan just to give 'enemy clans' info on them just to piss that clan off, and trying to purposely harm said clan.

I agree that a person having no name is lame, BUT they shouldn't be banned for it. Why the fuck would they get banned for something like this? It's easy to prevent, stop people from being able to change their names or have weird simbols in them. Don't ban people for something that is the dev's mistake.

So people should just get banned for trolling? Aren't we all here for our own enjoyment though? if you're going to actively seek to "Troll people" and then wonder why the hell you're banned, you probably should just stay that way. I don't see how anyone could be seen as intelligent when they seek trouble then wonder why they are punished for it.

lol of course he's banning for this one first, it's the easiest one to track. why does it even matter what order he bans for things in? and I don't see how just because other things are being abused makes this any more ok to do. It's obviously something you're not meant to do. if you're gonna fuck around with exploits this is what happens.

You do know that you can just set Steam to tell everyone you're offline, even when you really aren't. Simple, there's a button for it...

I've known about steam since the 2nd year it started

in game it's important because people can still talk to you in game in offline mode.

Ok man, no problem. Certain games probably act different in game than others, but when I'm in offline mode, unless they just happen to randomly join the same match I'm in and run past me and see me they never know I'm online. Anyway no big deal, I just wanted to make sure you knew it did that. I have never seen anyone in a steam game with a blank name. I've been a member of Steam since the week it started =P
