Actually, we ARE your customers as we ARE using your servers potentially. To say that since we are not directly paying you to rent them and therefore we are not your customers is just a stupid thing to say. We DID buy keys, and the devs DO pay you for the servers or you give them as tradeout for free with the understanding you get to rent more servers to us. I suggest you stop sitting here on the forum and preaching to us on what to ask and not ask of the developers and learn some basic sales and customer service skills.

So devs pay for servers? are you 100% sure on that and that they pay full rent?

Read what I said...they pay for them or get them for free based on a tradeout and the ability of this server company to sell hosting server packages for the game.

I actually think its quiet reasonable what he said, i don't get why everyone is so frustrated.
He even warned us .. notice that this is an alpha this can happen without his or our or the devs control. eg bugs etc.

No one said you couldn't ask it. You just have to live with the answers you get. (And no, the devs do not pay us.)

I think the point that Ideal-Hosting is missing here is that every user on Rust is a potential customer and after reading his/her reactions here, I'm pretty sure that, should I decide to rent a Rust server, it will certainly not be rented from this provider. I'm quite sure that I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

Anyway, thanks for the response regarding the time of the wipe.

That's fine. We've been an overall honest provider and speak out what we think for years and it will stay like that. We appreciate your honest feedback.

That makes no sense. When I bought the key there already were powerful players & clans. Why do the experienced players have to pay the price and start it all over coz new players cant manage themselves? Lots of people invested time in getting bluprints, items etc. A semi-wipe that will remove only the map details will be a lot better. Sorry for the long reply.

Since this seems to be the only topic the host replies on, could you reset Central Europe or would you need the Devs to tell you when to do that? (The server is down).

This entitled mentality of the current alpha testers is not helping anyone. We are NOT entitled to anything. We purchased the privilege for an alpha playtest. That's it. We aren't paying Ideal Hosting, we aren't working on the game. We are playtesting.

In an effort to try and comply with a simple request (being told of an impending wipe), we were told. Now, you all want to treat the host badly? That's like biting the hand that feeds you. Even if the money we put into the game went to the developers, that doesn't mean we get to talk down to Ideal Hosting. Even if they were a bit snippy, they have told us why it had happened before.

People are ungrateful.. In a thread everyone complained that they didn't get any warning about server wipes so 'Ideal-Hosting' does something they didn't have to do... And gave you a warning and your complaining about his conduct/tone with people.

Stop being so emotional.. absorb the information, appreciate it and move on.

Really? I wish there was an accurate server list online, because there's apparently servers online with players and it fails to connect (and in console it says failed). Off topic: I remember that username in RUST =o

Ultra as in, will stay online and *hopefully* not be effected by the DDoS attacks? Because it seems that not a single server will connect for me, and it's rather frustrating. Do you have any ETA on when it may be online (the ultra server)?

As far as I can tell, PlayRust Server (Hosted by PlayRust.EU) is a new server. Will this also be wiped next Friday, or does it already have the necessary updates?

Also, what is the reason for the wipe? Is it updates? If so, how come the other servers don't get those updates? Or is it updates to your serverbox?

It's a customer server purchased from www.playrust.eu

He can decide when he wipes etc.

That does not answer my question. I know that its a custom server, but what you said in your first post, was that all the (Hosted by playrust.EU) servers are being wiped, so I asked if that included the new server that came up?

And what is the reason for the wipe?

Those are not being wiped. The new one is a test-server from us.

I'm sure other people have the same question... if someone "purchases" a server from you... do they get to decide the name, location, and admin it? I'd love to get an RP server going, but would need to know that there's some way to kick/ban people. I wouldn't rent a server to have hackers kick my own teeth in, in my own house. That would be absurd.
