I need to stop purchasing games that rely on "official" servers. I'm getting tired of my gaming time being dependent upon the condition of the servers. Not just if they are up or down, but what goes on in them when they are up (lag, hackers, etc).
Its too bad more and more games use this always online, multiplayer only method.

yeah this could go on for awhile because unfortunantly it doesnt take that much to ddos at all a simple press of a button and chill and watch the chaos unfold! only cost 200 buck

And i mean like, real server files. Not like in shit games like battlefield where "you can host your own server" by buying only from their "partners" without actually getting the files. Christ.

Its amazing how many people hate on WarZ. The development leaves much to be desired... but I rather enjoy the game for what it is.

I love how butt hurt you are over my comments. I don't even know you. Never ran into you in-game once. Yet (at least you ignorantly think) you know me and have any clue as to what my unit is. None of us know you, and are actually getting a chuckle at how hurt you are over my comments. Keep at it.
That said... the comparisons I've made about War Z have been due to the hacking. Very similar problems faced by War Z at the exact same stage of development. If you're unable to comprehend that and see the similarities, then I feel sorry for you.
I did note in another thread and have said this publicly on my TeamSpeak that the combat is very much the same. Same arcade feel of the guns, physics, etc. But then I could probably list a half dozen games in that regard.
Anyway... keep flaming and spamming the forums with hate for me and my group of guys. We'll keep laughing about it. Maybe some day we'll actually see you in-game and show you what we're capable of.

Before reading teamvortex's post I was kinda thinking the same thing. I had been browsing around forums today all I see is negativity and infact "WarZ card". If you don't have any thing valuable to add to the thread, please don't participate in it. You already made your point like thousands time.
This thread is about servers and when they are going to be up. Every time a thread is created, somehow Warz and comparison comes up. If thread is going off topic, its better not to respond to it. One person start comparing games, other person starts criticizing the person and whole thread goes to shit.

actually he was caught in a false ban wave that was caused by the game crashing and logging back in too quickly and just like the others caught in it, was unbanned, however I recall Dexzeh was not unbanned on more than one account. As for cammo253 .... he admitted just yesterday on global chat that he cheated and that the accounts were his. And from what I can hear all the guys kicked from freaktm's clan admitted to cheating on their voice comms server when he asked them directly.
but hey keep trying to deny that half of you guys cheat in other games and pay for subscriptions to cheat websites. Even yourselves know the truth. as for the half that doesnt cheat ... in my opinion when you are happy to play alongside cheaters, knowing full well they cheat then you are guilty of association and just as pathetic.
Atleast freaktm runs a tight ship and will not allow anyone to cheat or exploit in his group. He has already warned new members into the new clan that any cheating or history of cheating will see them kicked out immediately. (his clan is not called anzac by the way)
But hey go around trying to signup him to cheat websites to prove some lame point that you guys are familiar with registering to cheat websites ..... if that's what your trying to prove ?

It's not an attack, it's thirteen separate attacks hitting every server simultaneously. Without seeing a Dstat or having access to logs it's impossible to know the exact output numbers but the attacks are most likely running in the 20-40Gbps range. DDoS mitigation for thirteen separate servers in that range could run anywhere from $6000-$11,000/month and even then the servers would be incredibly laggy. It's a lose/lose situation, nothing we can do but wait it out.

Sorry to disappoint you. No one has wrecked our base. We've been raided once and that's it (when we had a single story structure that was built 30 minutes before it was raided). So... no.
No ones "wrecked" us because we roll with 20 other people (public players and an allied clan) in the same place. We had only three extended battles since we've been in-game. One we died once, but killed the defenders each twice then pulled back (our most exciting fight yet). We were about to head back to finish them but the servers went down and reset.
The second was a raid in which we pushed the defenders into a structure, blew the doors, and killed them. They were in cloth, we were in kevlar. Not much of a fight there.
The third was a base that someone ran through and pillared. We grabbed a supply drop with a ton of resources and decided to abandon that base. While pulling out, four guys attacked and were wiped out. They attacked again, and were wiped out. The third time two guys came back (one screaming over his mic like an idiot) and they were killed again. We didn't lose anyone.
I don't know where you guys are getting your bum (trolling) info. Most of the 24th guys have just started in the last week in the middle of the DDoSing. Myself and only two other people have been playing longer than that. Clearly you're mistaken. Like I said, never saw this Havoc guy in-game.
We had our recruitment thread up which I'm sure you're getting your "military in video games" nonsense from. We are a realism group that plays Day Z and ArmA among other games. You either get realism, or you don't. I wont explain it. But we don't act like we're military in the game. We take a pretty casual approach to it.
Any way, good try. Might want to check your sources next time.

It was a base on the west server that you guys had made the REALLY bad mistake of placing all your foundations before anything else. We griefed all your foundations with pillars in the middle making them unusable raided what little of a base you were able to build with what foundations we didnt greif and blocked you guys inside your base with a wall.
The funny thing is Vective was waiting in the dark with another wall and the second you guys used your C4 to blow it down he replaced it right away. You guys left the base after that and never returned. This was before the latest server wipe. You either have a really bad memory or you are just pretending to not remember the day we took your clans base from you.

Hmmm... Probably should have sifted through the terrible community in the forums before waiting 3 days through a retarded ass dutch auction to waste 10 dollars (instead of the $3.50 the so called auction said i got it for) on a game thats down more than it's up, and has no single player capability for some reason... Well so long $10, i'll miss you. I really gotta stop buying alphas lol.

Since I feel like any legitimate response to the first half of your statement would be wasted on you I'm just going to leave that as it is. On to your question though. Due to the inconsistency of the attacks they're most likely using some form of a shell booter service that limits the amount of time that they can continuously inundate the servers with requests. Since the last thing I want is for more people to try to play hacktivist I won't go into any more detail than that.

You essentially preordered the game and as a bonus you got access to alpha and beta testing. The servers themselves are fine they've just been under constant DDoS attacks for the past few days. The attacks most likely won't last much longer but until they subside there will be intermittent downtime.
Either way by the time the game is actually released individuals will be able to host their own servers and downtime will be a thing of the past. In the long run your $10 will have been well spent, you just won't get the instant gratification that you were expecting.

I understand your point, "it's an alpha blah blah grateful blah blah" yeah... Doesn't make up for the majority of the assholyness i've seen in these pages lol. As for the instant gratification I wasn't expecting any, else i would have bought the game 3 days ago when keys were running out at $40 for some god awful reason, and since the community instantly makes it worth about the $3.50 i was supposed to pay for it when i clicked the auction button.
Maybe if this whole dutch auction thing which is clearly just a money grab didn't exist, and if the community were better, i might have hope that the last part of your comment is true.

I definitely hope it is, the 3 minutes i were able to play through obviously made me want to get back in, else i would not be in the forum now lol. Probably won't try again though til i hear something about a beta or full release, so good luck to all of you

You have to realize that the people on the forums don't represent the community as a whole. Once the DDoS attacks subside the undesirables will stop acting like three year olds on the forums. Just give it time, things will definitely start to improve and the gameplay itself is phenomenal.
As far as the Dutch Auction goes though I don't think that it was originally intended as a money grab. My best guess is that they were trying to gauge player interest. The price at release will most likely be based on the average price that alpha keys sold for (~$35 last I checked).

I hope your right as far as the dutch auction, but in order to do something that risky i imagine they foresaw some things involving people being scared of not getting keys and buying it for ridiculous prices lol... But if the game is as good as i've been hearing it is, i look foreword to giving it a go in the beta/ full release stages. Anywho i'm leaving for real now lol, evening ppl.

L carbon, your obviously not the kind of player this alpha needs. There is a reason that though this community is so filled with rage, they are still here. This game is epic, i only managed to play for roughly 10 minutes today, bc i too bought my key today for what i thought was less then 10 dollars (I did realize it was 10 dollar before clicking the OK/pay button).
This game has great potential, but it is an alpha, it needs constructive feedback, and help. Be thankful for the DDOS attacks, as in all actuallity i think that is the only reason they are offering the discounted price atm. It use to only be 5 keys an hour, and getting it for less then 30 dollars was damb near impossible.
If you do not have the patience to wait, then leave. If you were to idiotic to realize you were paying more then your 3.50 before clicking "pay" and are going to cry about it, then leave. Are you are doing is making it blatantly clear that you are not only an idiot for judging a game you have not even gotten to play yet, but also an idiot for not reading the forums, and a further idiot for buying a game that "sucks" so much in your words.
me personally? I will wait, i spend several days hoping to get a key for this game, but the price was just to Hi for something in alpha imo, so i waited, and checked, and waited, and checked, and finally got the game at a price i could afford and justify. Yes i am upset that i did not get it for the 4.50 i thought i was getting it, and i have a support ticket open and hope to be reimbursed for this. BUT I CHOSE to still pay the $10 knowing it was a glitch/error or just an unstated part of the auction that i might not get reiumbursed for.
You made the same choices I did, and if you choose to criticize this game and show just how "stupid" of a decision that was, then please. Tel me more about how retarded you are.
I in the mean time, will bide my time, wait for the time i can gleefully run into the world and be eaten by zombies or have my head bashed in by someone with a rock. Because this "shitty" community you seem to so hate, is so strong, I have no doubt the game is worth every ounce of thier devotion (and hate at it being down/glitchy) They are so ticked right now because the game IS so good, and because the community of players 14,000 strong that has gathered around it loves it and hates to see it in the state it is in, and cannot wait for it to reach the potential that they know will come in time.
