GameBooster by Razer can also do this, as well as essentially boost your game. They also have other performance tweaks and whatnot, I recommend it.
Oh yeah Razer helped me out on my old rig (AMD 1055T) I have i5-4770k now and problem seems to be with AMD again but with the GC lol :(

Took this down, if shit lags for you get over it
And by the way, this forum is fked up, in the time I crated this thread and 5 days after that, about 6 of the people that commented are banned by now, including my-self got banned for making this thread with adfly links, and I've search and haven't found any fucking thread saying I can't use ad.fly linking on my threads, which makes no sense, if you don't like ad.fly don't look at the thread. You guys have to start giving warnings and being more clear with the rules.

For what it's worth guys, I'm having very good results on Waterfox 64-bit browser, 64-bit unity player running Windows 8 64-bit and haven't had to play with the allocated memory yet, no fps stutters apparent. Hope this helps someone :)

    The system is a 3570k, 8GB RAM, Gtx680.

I agree on the rule thing, but isn't it common sense that posting adfly (and others in the same vein) links is completely obnoxious? You may as well sell the space in your signature as ad-space.

Thanks for the update dude I'm on Win7 and wouldn't recognise the install of x64 unity player when i clicked onto a server. I'm still getting awful stutter and FPS and huge black textures fragmenting out everywhere.

can someone please repost what the OP said or at least try to post some of it if anyone remember? I start out with 66-70 fps and it slowly drops over 3-5 mins to 20 fps constant. I assume there is some sort of loading going on but when I look around from the massive mountain that I am on, I can see everything. or most of the map with 66-70 fps.

Of course this is before 5 mins have passed and I am down to 20.

Hey guys i just wanted to share the tweaks that i did to get a really good fps boost and much clearer/better graphics in my opinion. You can edit them in either console or the cfg file itself.

go to this file in here called config.cfg and drag the file into your computers wordpad app to open it up.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\rust\cfg

At the very bottom you will see all these gfx options, change them all to false then save. The only ones that i actually see a visual difference when i type in is SSAA, grain, and shafts... the others i don't know if they change anything but i turn them all off anyways to boost fps.

gfx.ssaa False (this disabled anti-aliasing you will notice the difference immediately)
gfx.bloom False (bloom is the stupidest visual effect i have ever seen in my life it literally just bleaches/fogs/washes out lighting)
gfx.grain False (just a visual grain effect)
gfx.ssao False (ambient occlusion, i turned it off but i notice no visual difference, maybe it boosted fps, idk)
gfx.shafts False (the godlike beams of light that shine through trees/branches)
gfx.tonemap False (no i freakin idea but i turned it off anyways and notice no visual difference)

It also works if you type them in directly into F1 in-game
