Those who follow me on deviantArt have probably been aware of this set for some time, referred to simply as "Section 8 vs. The Nightmare."
This thread will be updated with new images and their respective stories (and music) as they come out.
The Outer Colonies were always distant from Earth in more than a literal sense; they developed independently, tended to their own matters and technology, even had their own military branches.
One day, following the eradication of the Arm of Orion by Section 8, both ends realized the folly of that distance when contact with Earth was abruptly lost.
Days later the satellites began to respond again, and the sights that met the Colonies were as though a demon had pulled a veil over their eyes and granted them a glimpse into Hell.
Rifts and fissures tore open across the planet, loosing torrents of nightmarish creatures upon the populace. Titanic monstrosities strode the mountains and gutted skyscrapers while the smaller demons gutted everything living.
The Colonies acted immediately, sending their shock troops -- Section 8 -- in their fastest vessels to make contact first and begin the fight, the bulk of the force limited in their speed.
Yet when the warriors arrived...
It seemed as though the assault had already finished. Cities lay in ruin, rifts dormant, and naught but handfuls of the tempest of monsters remained.
Human Debris

A helmet lay in a small pit among the massive snowdrifts, glacial winds marring the once polished surface.
The two surviving infantrymen had been fleeing monstrosities in the arctic for days; their platoon had been wiped out and communications severed.
Picking up the forgotten helmet, one of the pair had only two words echoing in his mind on perpetual repeat: "No survivors."

The Blood Plague

Thick red mist collected on the patrol's armor as they trudged through what was once a calm forest, now a mire replete with plague.
It began abruptly, consuming any region where life was proliferate; less of a plague and more of an all-consuming growth. It was just another twisted machination of the nightmares.
The Plague crept over their weapons and armor, probing for weak points to invade... and called up its minions to provide entrance when it found none.

Blitzkrieg

Hellions and beasts from the stuff of nightmare rose from the twisted Earth, ripped through tears in the sky, stopping at nothing to bring Hell to the mortal plane.
They dropped from the sky like meteors to combat the creatures, ablaze but unharmed, cratering the ground and emerging to the slaughter as butchers: the USIF's Elite.

Iocalla's Sepulcher

Triangular Ascension - The Throne of Water (Excerpt)
Bubbles vented from their helmets as their suits' internal oxygen tanks cycled, calmly floating upward despite the tempest far above the ocean floor.
Pillars of wrought stone set with disquieting reliefs marked what was once a road into the sepulcher of Iocalla, matron to many of the monsters that now laid claim to Earth.
The flow of water was gentle but harrowing, a siren enticing the scouts toward its source... toward their place among the dead.

Qualification For Massacre

They told us we'd be dropping on the homeworld, Earth, but that it was different now. Monsters out of nightmares walked desolate streets, a living red mist coated the air, and chasms to the land of the dead and damned split open the earth.
I've never been back "Home" before, I grew up on Atlas here in the Outer Rim with my brothers... and the veterans say nothing can truly prepare us for what lies in wait.
We have to train constantly, always on edge, always wearing our suits. Earth isn't home anymore... it's Hell.

Gehenna's Terrible Embrace

The horrible sound of flesh being torn apart came from behind as his ally's head was wrenched from his body.
Sudden radio silence and the splattering of gore was audible to him even over the raging fire, even over the monstrosity wrestling him to the ground, snapping his wrist.
His remaining squadmate, breathless with desperation, struggled to escape the clutches of the damned dragging him into the flaming Pit, clawing helplessly for his knife.

Leviathan's Call

A cleft in the mountains tore open, massive hands groping at the vapid air and lifeless earth as the monstrosity within clawed its way to the surface.
Larger even than the flame-eyed demon that crushed their comrade, this new foe towered among the mountains, calling minions to rise with but a flourish of its hand...
The reek of death scattered through the air on imperceptible winds, accompanied by the giant's attention.
Enormous chains hanging from its neck clanged together as it turned, outstretching its massive hand as if to snatch them up.

Into The Shrieking Gloom

As the Nightmare endured, so too did the people of Earth -- the greater the assault, the stronger grew their will to resist.
The advance soldiers of Section 8 began to encounter remnants of the Earth's military and civilian populations, bringing some of them to the rare safe sites to await evacuation to orbit.
Those who remained had the fury of war behind their eyes, and fought alongside Section 8 to retake what was lost, to destroy what the Nightmares brought.

Since it's been asked several times already, yes -- that is a Spartan III, and yes that is a marine being attacked by the vampire.
In this universe, Earth and the colonies from which Section 8 hails have developed almost totally independent of each other for a century or more, and their technology differs significantly.

Demons' Corridor

As he lifted his rifle, the heavily armored warrior pushed the last of the surviving group onward, urging them to get into the dropship's light.
His only remaining squadmate latched a magazine of incendiary shells into his shotgun, charging forward into the tunnel to keep the bulk of the monsters back.
A haunting figure strode into the firelight, gripping the crushed helmet of a comrade, hungry whispers from its gaping maw damning them all.
